The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, is set to arraign former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, before both federal and state high courts in Kaduna over alleged corruption-related offences. In a statement issued on Monday, the Commission said El-Rufai and one Joel Adoga would be arraigned at the Federal High Court in the Kaduna Judicial Division on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.


Governor Seyi Makinde reportedly held an emergency meeting with key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State on Monday. The meeting, initially scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Agodi Government House, was later moved to the Local Government Training Centre within the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has confirmed that the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, National Leader and 2023 presidential flagbearer, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is in talks with the African Democratic Congress and the National Democratic Congress. The movement’s spokesperson II, Mansur Kurugu, confirmed the development to Daily Trust on Monday, saying the discussions may eventually lead to the alignment of the platforms.

 Suspected terrorists on Monday bombed a bridge along Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, in an attempt to disrupt the movement of troops in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations. It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 2am. Sources said the affected bridge links the Luma, Babana, and Agwara communities, which have experienced repeated attacks in recent times.

Vice president Kashim Shettima has clarified that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri remains the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State with his official defection into the party. Shettima made the clarification in Yola on Monday at a grand reception for Gov Fintiri.

 The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Monday night criticised Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, cautioning against engaging in political battles without the capacity to sustain them. He said the governor started a fight he couldn’t finish. Wike made the remarks during the 107th National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, held on Monday.

 The Federal Capital Territory Police Command, on Monday, described videos circulating on social media alleging police involvement in a shooting at the National Union of Road Transport Workers headquarters in Garki II, Abuja, as false and misleading. The command stated that its officers only intervened to restore order after receiving a distress call.

 The Speaker of the Zamfara House of Assembly, Bilyaminu Moriki, alongside 12 state assembly members, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. The speaker announced the lawmakers’ defection during plenary in Gusau on Monday after presenting letters of resignation to the House.
