Nigeria's Weather Agency Issues Heat Stress Warning....

NiMet has issued a nationwide heat‑stress alert as temperatures surge across Nigeria, warning that residents in Benue, Nasarawa, the FCT, Kogi, Niger, Kebbi, Cross River, Oyo, Ogun and other inland southern states face heightened risk from extreme heat conditions.

In an advisory shared on its X page, the agency noted that the current temperature spike could trigger heat stress and related health complications, urging the public to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, wear light clothing, and reduce strenuous activity during peak heat hours. 

The alert comes as unusually high temperatures continue to sweep across multiple regions, raising concerns about public safety and the need for increased caution.
