Nollywood super star Chinedu Ikedieze alias Aki has opened up about how he was mocked while growing up...
In a heartfelt conversation with media host Chude Jideonwo, he recalled how neighbourhood kids mocked him, and although his siblings sometimes defended him, they would use the same hurtful names during arguments.
The constant ridicule pushed him into a dark place. Chinedu revealed that he once considered suicide, feeling society was unfair to him and the emotional weight was too heavy to carry.
He said his mother became his anchor. She encouraged him to ignore the insults, focus on school, and build a future through education since he couldn’t take on manual labour like other boys.
Chinedu held onto his mother's words and these words became the foundation of the successful acting career he enjoys today.

Hmmm 😔😔😔

ReplyDeleteChinedu was my husband's classmate at Methodist College Uzuakoli. My husband told us same thing about constant bullying Chinedu suffered during their junior days. On a lighter note, I can't forget the shock on my daughter's face when she saw Chinedu during one of their Old Boys reunions, she couldn't believe he was her Daddy's mate
ReplyDeleteAnd how did you react, what response did you give her?
DeleteChildhood bullying is not for the faint hearted. Even as an adult, you'll still remember every bit of it.
ReplyDeleteThank God you listen to your mum and follow the footsteps of education.

ReplyDeleteAnd many who attacked and mocked him have not even achieved a quarter of what he has with their full bodies. In this life pay ppl no attention because many who are mocking and jeering are heading absolutely nowhere.
