A gunman opened fire inside the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, shooting a Secret Service officer in the vest before agents subdued him.
The suspect, 31‑year‑old Cole Tomas Allen from California, had rushed the security checkpoint with multiple weapons, triggering panic as guests scattered.
President Trump was quickly removed from the ballroom, and the First Lady was said to be visibly traumatised by the chaos.
The injured officer survived because of his vest, and the suspect was taken alive.
Authorities say he acted alone and will face two federal charges , using a firearm during a crime of violence and assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon .
He is expected to be arraigned on Monday as investigators continue probing how he managed to reach the screening area armed during such a high‑security event.
I watched the whole drama and it was like watching a movie....I saw all kinds of police security move into action immediately...I had goose bumps...It is exactly how we see it in movies but this time, their responses were faster.....That is how the Police and army is supposed to be equipped not the nonsense Nigerian Police and army have become..

Please try and sentence the animal speedily. I don't want to hear mental health. Reagan's attacker was properly schizophrenic. The guy spent decades in jail for his hateful stupidity. His fellow patients that were not criminally minded enjoyed their freedom except when receiving treatment.
