Osun State Govt Removes Monarch Jailed In The U.S. For COVID‑19 Fraud

The Osun State Government has removed Oba Gbenga Joseph Oloyede as the Apetumodu of Ipetumodu with immediate effect.

Information Commissioner Kolapo Alimi said the decision followed consultations and approval by the State Executive Council under the Osun State Chiefs Law.
Oba Oloyede is currently serving a prison sentence in the United States after being convicted for COVID‑19 fraud.
The state has withdrawn all instruments of authority and declared the stool vacant pending succession procedures.
Security agencies have been directed to maintain peace in Ipetumodu, headquarters of Ife North LGA.
