When I was still working for Madam Glo, one of her wealthy friends, a soldier man's wife brought in a wig for revamping.
ReplyDeleteI washed it, set it out to dry, and went home without packaging and labeling it with the owner’s name as we normally did.
Unfortunately the next day was my day off
In my absence, a colleague sealed the wig and mistakenly gave it to another customer.
Months later, the rich woman came back for her wig and it was nowhere to be found. Confusion everywhere
She became furious and said she was going to have me arrested for stealing her wig to wear and buga big girl around my neighborhood
She even threatened to bring her husband’s crazy soldier colleagues to flog me.
Our madam pleaded with her, and the woman gave me one week to produce the wig or see the other side of her.
Our madam later told us that the woman get cress o. One time she hit a man with her car for refusing to move out of her way. She added that if the wig wasn’t so expensive, she would have paid for it herself, but since it was costly, she'd start deducting it from my salary and help get a new one
Sometimes whenever this woman was free, she'd come to the shop and insult me wotowoto. 😂
One night I prayed like never before, using Psalm 57 as my anchor
Days later, another customer showed up with a wig, complaining that she had been given the wrong wig by my colleague months earlier. She only realized it when she wanted to style her hair that day. So we should take our wig and return hers
Lo and behold, it was soldier man's wife's wig
Jubilation everywhere 🥳
Our madam intentionally refused to call and inform the woman because she was already coming to the shop the same week, so she (our madam) wanted the outcome to be a surprise
On the 7th day, the woman arrived with uniformed men carrying koboko.
Her wig was immediately handed to her and everything was explained clearly.
She asked the soldiers to wait outside then turned to me and apologized
She said some young girls have chosen to do🪝 🆙 but you chose to be here and endure my insults.
She asked what I wanted as compensation. Money, clothes, shoes, a bag or even a wig, I should pick one.
Our madam immediately signaled me to choose wig which I did. The woman said ok and left
Small time, her houseboy arrived with a high quality wig for me
It’s been years, and I still have the wig. It stands as a reminder of faith and divine vindication.
Lowkey, some people with 'cress' are usually soft inside, cos this woman suddenly had teary eyes 🥹 while apologizing to me.
I was just smiling that day o, but today as I'm typing this, it seems like someone is slicing onions close to my eyes. Because no, I'm not crying 🙂↔️

ReplyDeleteLuckily for me, I met a very jovial guy who actually wanted to get acquainted with me and possibly take me around on a tour of the school campus. I almost immediately agreed because I had no choice then due to my naivety and somewhat ignorance.
He took me to the hottest spots, trendiest places, boutiques, banks, eateries like item 7, canteens, stores and last but not the least, the hostels (female and others), the popular LTs and the almighty senate building.
It was really a nice and fulfilling time for me because I wouldnt have been able to do all of these things on my own.
Lastly, I was perplexed and disorganized because I wasn't really getting the whole queues at the ATMs inside of the school during registration and all that because I had not experienced that kind of thing in my life before and it was the very first time. I was really amazed and shocked at everything that was unfolding but it was my earnest prayer back then that no matter what, God should definitely make it possible for me to pull through and everything got to be history.
Conclusively, the aftermath turned out extremely good for me despite all of the shortcomings and odds that were obviously against me in my sojourn through campus life. University life was nothing short of amazing with its ups and downs too.

I know how trolls on this blog act most of the time, even when someone chooses to stay in their lane. I’ve been attacked severally here, and you’re aware of that. Intentionally, I decided to stay away from Spontaneous and IHN posts comment section.
On that very comment you made, regardless of the context or point you were trying to drive home, it doesn’t sit right. I won’t lie to you. If I do, posterity will judge me.
In all humility, I’ll sincerely advise that you apologize for that statement. It went to the extreme. I understand that some of the women here can be annoying, but towing that line of defence went too far. It leaves a lot to be desired.
Please, brother, not for the sake of anyone here but for your own conscience, correct the wrong in that statement. It’s demeaning. There are things that shouldn’t be said to a woman, and this is one of them.
