ReplyDeleteNobody is even arguing that people should live carelessly in marriage or encourage wrong behaviour. That one is clear. But when a message starts to sound like “if you misbehave, cancer will visit you and you will die early”… ah!!! It’s the tone for me. The preaching is beginning to sound more like an emotional outburst. E be like sey she get who she dey target. The preaching be like: To Whom It May Concern.
And this idea of putting divorced women in one basket…haba!!! So, she would rather a woman remains in a bad marriage (or even die in it)?..... People’s stories are different. Some are healing, some are rebuilding, some are simply surviving. Not everybody is a “negative influence” because of their marital status. Even the “run away from them so they don’t spoil your marriage” angle… haba naaaa....
At the end of the day,
correction is necessary, yes.
Standards are important, yes.
But wisdom is still needed when you speak about thibgs like these.
Because truth without grace can quickly start sounding like anger covered with a Bible.
