I think they bought oil from one Igbo guy, and when they got home, they realized the oil had already been opened and had no seal on it. They went back and started making trouble, which I didn’t even know about until this morning when I was getting ready to leave Lagos.
They were now discussing it with my friend, cursing and saying all sorts of things about the guy;because the guy refused to take it back. When my friend came in, I told him it was wrong of him to support his neighbor against the guy.
Why? As an adult, you went to purchase 1 litre of oil worth ₦4,500 and you didn’t check it properly before leaving.
You got home and realized it had been opened before. Who does that? Who will believe such a story? The Igbo guy had no fault at all. I said that for me, I’m placing the blame on the man, and he needs to stop using his own carelessness to generalize his foolishness to other Igbo people.
One thing is sure; whenever you are buying anything liquid, you should check it properly before leaving the place so you don’t come back with nasty excuses.

This is why some firms put at the bottom of their products, “Any product taken in good condition cannot be returned.” He was surprised.
I told him the oil might truly have been opened because sometimes oil sellers open one bottle to measure ₦1,000 worth of oil for someone and decide to keep the rest for measuring purposes too, but mistakes can happen. He might have mistakenly put it together with the sealed ones (though some intentionally do that for extra gain). But as it stands, the buyer was at fault.

Wrong is wrong uncle or aunty. Why would I suspect there is something wrong with the oil in buying. And if the shop owner was using that particular container to measure small amount then it would be an honest mistake. See your defence sef get k-leg.
ReplyDeleteTake the message he is passing on, stop being a clown. He is right about that. Check that whatever that you are buy in is in good condition before leaving the seller’s space.

Buyer beware is good advice. The seller may have an apprentice or staff tampering with his goods or not inspecting supplied goods. It would be wise for him to be vigilant so his reputation isn't damaged.
