Pope Leo XIV Says That “AI Must Be Disarmed To Protect Humanity”

Pope Leo XIV has warned that artificial intelligence must be “disarmed” before it becomes a tool of domination, misinformation, and war.

In his encyclical Magnifica Humanitas, he said AI is already creating “new forms of slavery” and insisted that machines must never make lethal decisions. He called for strict global rules to ensure technology serves people not controls them.
