Senator Shehu Sani Explains Why He Is Returning To The Senate

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani, explains during an interview on Sunday Politics on Channels Television why he is returning to the Senate.

He says he is going back because the law allows it, and that there is no tenure limit for serving in the National Assembly, whether in the Senate or the House of Representatives. He adds that once his people believe he still has much to offer, he has a duty and responsibility to represent them effectively.

He also points out that Nigerians often focus more on who becomes president than on who becomes their lawmakers at both state and federal levels, even though legislative representation is extremely important.

He says that a strong and independent Senate is essential for good governance. He stresses that when the Senate is vibrant, respects its integrity, and maintains its independence, the country benefits from better governance.
