There’s a lady I worked for some years back. For the past 3 weeks I had this strong urge to reach out to her but I kept procrastinating. It was when actor Alex died that I immediately called but her number didn't go through. I then called her younger sis only to receive the saddest news. ⚰️
She didn’t make it back alive from her last trip.
She owned a salon/boutique. She used to tell us that she had been hustling since her teenage years, long before she became successful so we shouldn't relent. That woman dey hustle ah, and she also made sure all her siblings were and are still doing well too. She traveled to China, India, and sometimes Vietnam to buy goods and sell in Nigeria.
I still entered Facebook last week and I came across an old post by Harrison Gwamnishu where the lady's husband was searching for his wife who had traveled and hadn't returned since. Chai!
Oh my Madam Glo. Rest in peace. From now on, once someone crosses my mind, I'll reach out immediately. It doesn't matter if that ends up being my last time hearing from them 😢
