The verdict was delivered at Hull Crown Court on May 29, 2026.
Prosecutors said the woman had been drinking heavily and went upstairs to rest, but Ajeyemi followed her and made unwanted advances. Despite her telling him to stop, he allegedly removed her underwear, pulled down his trousers, and held her down while trying to assault her.
She fought back and eventually escaped downstairs in distress. Her account was described as consistent and credible.
A FaceTime call after the incident, during which Ajeyemi apologised and admitted wrongdoing, along with text messages begging for forgiveness, formed key evidence.
He later denied attempting to Grape her, claiming they only kissed, but the court rejected his version.
Ajeyemi, an international student with no prior UK convictions, has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing.
The victim initially hesitated to report the incident due to concerns about his education and immigration status but eventually came forward out of fear he might harm someone else.
