Joseph was arrested and charged at the Ejigbo Magistrate Court 1 on three counts: conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, fighting, and unlawful assault causing bodily harm.
The court ordered his remand at Kirikiri pending further hearing, which has been adjourned to August 3, 2026.
Reports indicate that Joseph took his wife to a hospital in Isolo after the attack, where the viral video was recorded. Despite the victim’s pleas, Lagos police maintained that domestic violence will not be tolerated, urging the public to report such cases promptly to prevent further harm.
