Lilo & Stitch Voice Over Actress Daveigh Chase Dies At 35 After Battle With Sepsis And Meningitis

Hollywood actress Daveigh Elizabeth Chase, best known as the voice of Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, has died at 35.
Her manager, John Ryan Jr, confirmed to BBC News that she passed away in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering severe malnutrition, meningitis, and sepsis.

Ryan said Chase was admitted on Wednesday in critical condition after extreme weight loss. Doctors later diagnosed meningitis and multiple bloodstream infections, which rapidly worsened.
Described as private and gentle, Ryan said she loved rescuing cats and avoided Hollywood’s spotlight.
“She wasn’t very Hollywood… she’d rather eat at Bob’s Big Boy and go home with the cats,” he said.

Born July 24, 1990, Chase began acting at age 4 and became famous for her role in The Ring and for voicing Lilo , a performance that earned her an Annie Award in 2003. She retired from full‑time acting in 2015.

Her June 2026 hospitalization marked the final chapter of a difficult health battle.
