A man identified as Sheihu has died in Salaga, Savannah Region of Ghana after stabbing himself during the annual Fire Festival in an attempt to prove he had spiritual powers.
Witnesses say he used a knife on himself while trying to demonstrate “invulnerability” to the cheering crowd, but the act left him with severe injuries.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and he was rushed to the Salaga Government Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
According to GhanaWeb, onlookers believed he was attempting to showcase supernatural strength before the tragedy unfolded.
