Pinky's CORNER

There is this woman I got to know through my wife. She was in the same class with my wife’s elder sister back in secondary school. She is 48 years old, and her marriage will be 15 years this year ,  no child.

She relocated to Lagos from Ibadan around June last year, and since then we have been communicating. She is so nice and always encourages us. Some people told us they saw her a few months ago and that she looked sick, but they couldn’t really explain. We didn’t call to confirm because we didn’t know how it would sound telling her that someone said she looked sick.

We didn’t know that God had already performed wonders in her life. (God is still in the business of doing miraculous things.)
We were called on Tuesday that Aunty had given birth to triplets. I was so happy to hear the news. I called her to congratulate her and also promised to be in Lagos for the naming. I love attending naming ceremonies anywhere I hear the news of newborn babies.
For those of us looking up to God (you reading this included), I know this season feels heavy on our hearts. Watching the months go by while our arms still feel empty can make you feel forgotten, discouraged, and sometimes even angry at God. If that’s where you are right now, please read my words.

You’re longing for the fruit of the womb, and that longing does not go unnoticed. God sees it. He saw Hannah weeping in the temple until her voice was gone. He saw Sarah laugh through her tears. He saw Rachel’s desperate cry and Elizabeth’s quiet years of waiting. These women walked the same road you’re on, and their stories didn’t end in silence. God heard them, and He hears you too.

Waiting doesn’t always mean “no.” More often, it means “not yet.” It feels slow to us, but God is never late. While you wait, He is working in places you cannot see. The same God who formed you carefully in your mother’s womb is more than able to open the womb in His perfect time.

I know hope feels thin some days. On those days, don’t pretend you’re fine. Be honest with God. Tell Him you’re tired, you’re scared, you’re hopeful all at once. Hope isn’t about ignoring the pain , it’s about choosing to believe that the God who created life can breathe life into your home too.

Let His word carry you when you’re too weak to stand on your own: “The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.”

And please remember: you are more than your womb. A negative test does not reduce your worth. You are loved, you are seen, and you are called by God right now, even in this waiting. This season may be shaping you, but it does not define you. If you allow it, it can draw you closer to the Father who loves you without condition.
So breathe. Cry if you need to. Talk to God like you would talk to a Father who understands. He can hold your anger, your doubt, your hope, and your tears. I’m praying that peace finds us today, and that soon we will be holding the testimony we have been believing for.
Keep trusting. He cannot fail you.
