Speaking on the Bryce Crawford Podcast, Nicki explained that her career demanded late‑night and weekend performances, leaving her too exhausted to attend Sunday services
She added that she once went to church three times a week—Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays before her schedule became overwhelming.
Nicki also revealed that fame took away the intimacy she once felt in church and attending services became uncomfortable because people stared, recorded her, and treated her presence like a spectacle.
In her words:
“Once my career started taking off, I stopped going to church. I still wanted to go, but I was working Friday and Saturday nights, so waking up on Sunday didn’t make sense anymore.
When you become famous, you go to church and people stare at you. It takes away that feeling of just you and God and makes you feel like you’re on display.”
She added that many celebrities stop attending church because they lose the anonymity needed to worship freely.
Despite the challenges, she emphasized that her relationship with Jesus keeps her grounded, even if she no longer attends church physically.
