Abia State Gov Alex Otti Clarifies Position On President Tinubu’s 2027 Second‑Term Bid

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has clarified his stance on President Bola Tinubu’s second‑term ambition, stating that he is not opposed to the President exercising his constitutional right to seek re‑election.


Otti explained that Tinubu, like any other qualified Nigerian, is free to contest in 2027. He stressed, however, that the final decision lies solely with Nigerian voters, who will determine the outcome at the polls.
He emphasised that leadership choices in a democracy must always reflect the will of the electorate.
