A man has divorced his wife after discovering she had ₦600,000 in her bank account but allegedly refused to contribute ₦24,000 for their daughter’s medical treatment and the delay that nearly cost the child her life.
During proceedings at The Justice Court Nigeria, the man emotionally recounted how he had always taken full financial responsibility for his family, carefully planning ahead despite the unstable nature of his job. He explained that when he fell on hard times, he had to borrow money from relatives to pay for his daughter’s hospital bills.
According to him, he later found out that his wife had over ₦600,000 saved throughout the ordeal but allegedly refused to release even a single naira for their daughter’s care.
The revelation led him to file for divorce, saying he could not remain in a marriage where his child’s life was endangered by his wife’s lack of compassion.
Inasmuch as I pray never to be in this position, I also pray never to be this kind of wife!
