Actor Judy Austin Sues Fellow Actor Rita Edochie For Defamation, Demands N1 Billion And Public Apology
Nollywood actress Judy Austin has filed a lawsuit at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja against fellow actor Rita Edochie, over alleged defamatory statements.
In the writ of summons, Austin requested the court to order Edochie to pay ₦1 billion in general damages and ₦50 million to cover the costs of the legal proceedings. The lawsuit demands that Edochie issues a full retraction and apology across her social media accounts and in two national newspapers. It also seeks an order requiring the removal of all allegedly defamatory posts and restraining Edochie from making further related statements. Under the terms of the court filing, Edochie has 30 days from the date of service to respond to the lawsuit personally or through a legal representative.
I am so happy she did this. Enough of the online bullying, bitterness and unwarranted attacks on her life, children, career and business. Let them defend themselves.
