He is the Journalist i call OG Before IG .....
When you meet him so many things strike you at first sight. His long, unending professional bowlegs, his towering height, his big nose sitting on his face like a masterpiece, his infectious smile, his funny laughter, his beady snaky eyes, his very, very big feet, or his intelligence sipping through his big head like sweat…
Mr Tonikan is a total package if you know how packages look like...
ToniKan is the reason I am here in your faces today.
He was the editor of Hints Magazine when I stepped in, and when I sighted him, my girl infatuation went overboard. Who is that tall, bowlegged man swinging from left to right wearing shoes that looked like canoe? He had a beautiful smile and fingers that looked like he was holding a permanent pen........
I was told to write anything when they were testing my writing skills...So i told them about the dirty dilapidated office i was seated in waiting for them to interview me...…
They laughed when they read my piece and Mr Onwordi employed me...
That is how i became a writer for Hints Magazine churning out fake Romance stories every day..LOL
Two weeks after employing me on behalf of Hints Magazine, he left to take a bigger bank‑paying job, but we have been in contact and I have never forgotten him and the role he played in my journey.
He became my small godfather, my mentor, and the one I remembered whenever I wanted to give up. Giving up is easy because being a journalist is emotionally, financially and spiritually draining.
Today, ToniKan is not popular on the streets of social media but if you know him, you cannot forget him...
This is an ODE to celebrate you Tonikan!
Take the flowers!!!
