Are we teaching resilience or dependence? How do we help our children handle failure, rejection, and criticism without breaking down or shutting off?
I listened to the breaking story on CNN about a school student who took his grandparents’ shotgun, killed both of them, went to his school, killed five teachers and some students, and then killed himself. They said he felt pressured by his teachers to deliver more or do better.
Guess what? I think he learnt how to carry out that crime online, because it sounded very similar to something that happened in another country.
Some kids don’t know how to handle things anymore, so they go online and use Google to find out what to do. They no longer talk to their parents.

Atimes some of these kids are unbearable and needs to be monitored strictly at all times.
ReplyDeleteApart from closure, there's need to know their friends and what they do within their leisure time.
DOZZYBEST.
When I read some things I get scared! I'm trying my best and support with prayers.
ReplyDeleteJust what I was teaching my kids this summer holidays. We do moral lessons every week & this week was about hurt & rejection. I told them it happens to anyone but it shouldn't make them feel less worthy of themselves 👑
ReplyDeleteRaiding confident emphatic kids is great.
