The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has announced that the party has completed the upload of its candidates for all elective positions in the 2027 general elections on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. A farmer in Kastina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State has been forced to abandon his farm after suspected bandits demanded N500,000 from him as a condition for accessing and harvesting his crops. The farmer, whose identity was not disclosed, is a resident of Mbagena Council Ward in Kastina-Ala LGA, where suspected local bandits have allegedly been terrorising residents and imposing ransom demands on members of the community.

Operatives of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad, RRS, have arrested more than 30 suspected miscreants during a midnight enforcement operation along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway. The operation, conducted on Sunday, was targeted at individuals allegedly causing disturbances and posing security concerns to motorists and other road users along the axis.

The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, has neutralised nine suspected terrorists and destroyed three carts believed to be carrying weapons and logistics during a precision air strike at Dumba in Borno State.
A statement posted on X by security expert, Zagazola Makama, said the operation was conducted on Saturday, August 8, following credible intelligence on terrorist activities around the Dumba area.
Zagazola stated that the operation was executed during an armed reconnaissance and air interdiction mission.
According to him, the aircraft, established overhead Dumba at about 2:58 p.m. after intelligence indicated the presence of suspected terrorists in the area.
He added that on reaching the target location, the aircraft reportedly detected a group of three suspected terrorists walking along a road and another group of six terrorists pushing three carts suspected to be laden with weapons and other logistics.
