Governor Ademola Adeleke condemned the move, calling it illegal and done without a court order. He says the state will challenge the freeze in court, and argued that the EFCC has no power to block a statutory allocation account.
The affected First Bank account reportedly handles workers’ salaries, raising concerns about payment delays. The EFCC insists the freeze is a preventive step and not politically motivated ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Why would Efcc freeze an account used in paying of civil servants? I hope this is not to bring bad name to the present governor
