The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has filed a ₦2 billion lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over what he describes as the unlawful freezing of the state’s Federal Statutory Allocation Account.

Just like I stated yesterday, EFCC has the mandate to freeze an account. But it must be done within the ambit of the law, not on the orders of a politician. We all saw what happened. After the backlash from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, the same person who gave the order to freeze quickly reversed it.
ReplyDeleteNow the big question, If a court gave the initial order as they want us to believe, is the President now a court himself to reverse it? Isn’t this a clear abuse of power? How can a politician override a “court order”?
We’re not ready for this discussion, but we need to have it.
