There is a four flat house opposite my house. The landlord stays in one flat while having three tenants in the other flats and also has six shops. The whole tenants paid for their rent this year February (the landlord made it in a way that their rent expires the same day and month).

By April, the house was sold for 27 million (info from the original source, which is the agent). The buyer gave the tenants just two months which is good because he knows nothing about their rent. But when the landlord decided to pay back the tenants, she deducted three months from their rent (note, April never ended). Even till now, she is the only one who has moved away, the rest have not been able to get an apartment due to the prices.
My point now is, to me, the landlord did not do well at all. She should have considered the stress she put her tenants through and by so doing, compensated them with their full rent. I see no sense in deducting three months from their rent when she knows what each of them will pass through before getting another place (streets, time, agent wahala etc). I do not know how you people see it but to me, I feel she did not do well. She breached the contract and she should have done better.
Again, one of the tenants gave her a piece of paper where she wrote her account number for her to transfer her own rent into but something strange happened. The tenant gave a wrong account number, for example, she was to write 0047857675 but she wrote 0047857875 but wrote down the correct account name.
The landlord, at night, made the transaction without checking the name. It was later the tenant went to her to complain that she had not received anything. That was how wahala started. Both were advised to go to the bank together but the landlord said she was not going anywhere because she transferred into the account given and that was not her own error.
To me, both are at fault. The payee gave the wrong account number but the right account name and the payer also on her own side did not check well when making the transaction before sending the money. The issue is still on and I do not know if they have been able to settle their differences because the person who bought the house has been giving the whole tenants back to back pressure.
May God give us our own house because being a tenant is not a small challenge at all.
What a horrible story for the times. I hope they all come into the means to own their own place and can stop renting
