BOB: ''The rise of global streaming platforms has definitely shifted distribution. When selecting movies, I find out the platforms they’re going on. I’ve always tried to perform for international audiences in acting, speech and cadence so people across the world can understand what I’m communicating. And of course, you think about your fee when negotiating. These things matter when accepting scripts''.
Stella asked ''Nigerian stories have deep local roots. How do you balance keeping a performance authentically Nigerian while ensuring it resonates with an international audience?''
BOB: ''I try to localize what I do based on the script and what the writer, producer or director wants. For instance, Different Grounds, currently premiering in the UK and in Nigerian cinemas since June 12, blends Indian, Itsekiri and Igbo cultures. I played the role in a way that people from all three groups would clearly understand the cultures and enjoy the film equally. Bottom line: I play for an international audience while maintaining the local roots of the story''.
