The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre has invited a staff member of the West African Examinations Council, Olanrewaju Fadehan, to appear in Abuja on Wednesday over an alleged case of cyberstalking and criminal defamation. This comes as the Lagos State High Court restrained Fadehan from publishing or circulating alleged defamatory statements concerning the examination body and its Director-General, Dr Amos Dangut.

A 54-year-old officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Prince Etteng Ise, has died in a lone auto crash along the Ikom-Calabar Highway in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State. Ise, who was serving at the Mfum Border in Etung Local Government Area of the state, reportedly lost control of his vehicle while attempting to avoid a pothole.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has denied allegations that donations and levies raised from aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections were diverted, insisting that all funds contributed to the party were paid into its designated account and managed by the appropriate party organs. Academic staff of Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa (SLUK), have rejected the Jigawa State Government’s latest offer on issues affecting the institution, insisting on a two-week warning strike from midnight on September 15, 2026, if their demands are not addressed.
The decision was reached by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), SLUK branch, at its 54th Regular Congress Meeting held on Tuesday.
The union said it was dissatisfied with the proposal presented by the state government during recent engagements over issues affecting the university and its academic staff.

Nineteen political parties in Kogi State have signed a peace accord ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state.
An engagement between the Inter-Consultative Committee on Election Security and political parties, held at the Kogi State Police Command Headquarters in Lokoja on Tuesday, saw representatives of 19 parties sign the peace accord to ensure a peaceful electoral environment in the state.
Under the agreement, the parties and their candidates are to base their campaigns on policies, programmes, manifestos and issues affecting the people of Kogi State for the overall development of the state.
Some of the parties that participated in the peace accord included the All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Action Alliance (AA) and others.
