It was on that trip that i understood what a hot glass of chocolate looked like....
My first trip there was in December 2023.
I landed in Nairobi, spent a night at the Sarova, and the next morning flew to Diani for a conference.
When I arrived at my beachside hotel, I dropped my bag, refreshed my perfume, adjusted my makeup and headed straight to the venue without resting.
Later that evening, there was a welcome cocktail by the beach. After catching up with my Ugandan friends, I wandered off alone and sat on a log, watching tiny white crabs disappear into the sand while enjoying the night breeze.
I was minding my business when I suddenly felt someone watching me. It was not a casual glance but a very intentional stare. I pretended not to notice and kept scribbling in the sand.
Soon, I saw a shadow approaching, growing taller and closer until it stopped right in front of me. When I looked up, I saw him ,a tall, dark glass of hot chocolate. Even in the dim beach lighting, his face and physique were impossible to ignore.
He asked if he could sit with me, and I told him he could. After he settled beside me, he said he would be breaking a national law if he allowed me to sit there all by myself. The line made me laugh because it was such an unexpected but effective way to start a conversation.
We ended up talking for more than two hours without realising it. We laughed, joked and drifted through topics effortlessly. At one point, he told me he liked me, and I simply smiled and said I already knew. He laughed, and when he asked what I would call him, I told him the name that fit perfectly: a tall, dark glass of hot chocolate.
Unfortunately i did not see my tall, dark glass of hot chocolate again because i was too busy with work…… but not to worry i know how to find that glass of hot chocolate if i want to…..
Calling one from the other gender a hot glass of chocolate sounds nice or somehow?
Well, Ladies also know how to give names to the other gender, the same way they do to us…..

ReplyDeleteLol i was very certain that you'd captivate me with your stories .... yes i met someone like this when i was in my twenties.
I took my nephew on a play date and for some reason he kept going to this very luxe chocolat noir and we got talking and bonded but ofcos life and distance happened.
