U.S. Embassy Suspends Routine Visa Services In Abuja And Shifts Processing To Lagos
The U.S. Embassy in Abuja from August 1, 2026 stopped processing regular visa applications and Applicants now need to go to the U.S. Consulate in Lagos for these services. The change is part of a U.S. plan to move routine visa services in Africa to regional centres to improve security, screening and efficiency.
Gosh this news is so old. I am actually in-flight to the US and when I saw the news I panicked...wondering what again ooo. Only to read and realise this is so old and I had read it before.. That's because the US embassy stated it once again. You guys should cut Stella some slack. It's a gossip blog, she's trying her best to do more.
