Police Settle Burial Dispute As Late Singer Toluwanisings’ Family Sign Peace Undertaking
The Oyo State Police Command has resolved the burial dispute involving late gospel singer Toluwanisings (Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji) after weeks of tension between his widow and paternal family.
On November 3,2026, Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga invited all parties to the Eleyele headquarters. At the end of the meeting, the widow, father, relatives, friends and associates all signed a peace undertaking. They agreed to stop public arguments, interviews, posts and allegations about the matter and to maintain peace going forward. The police warned that anyone who violates the agreement will be arrested and prosecuted. Toluwanisings died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026, and disagreement quickly arose over where he should be buried. The argument spilled onto social media, causing more conflict.
People that didnt have a say in his life now troubling his wife? Na wah o!!!
What do you mean by people who didn’t have a say in his life now troubling his wife? Did the man fall down from the sky? If family didn’t invest in him, will the wife see him to marry?
Whether we like it or not, those people are his family and they have a say. His father is a very cool and calm person, if na my side, where you see mouth to talk where your husband will be buried? Nonsense!!
I read that they had a say in his life. It was said that his mother died when he was a child and that his maternal family took him in as a baby to care for him, while his father and other relatives sponsored his education up to the polytechnic level. So where is this narrative that they weren't present in his life coming from? He was also said to have been involved in their lives and those of his step-siblings, and was taking care of them before he passed away.
All in all, it's a good thing they have decided to let him rest.
