Police Shut Down Fake US Dollar Factory And Arrests One Suspect

Police in Ondo State have uncovered a suspected hideout for producing fake US dollars in Kiniso Village near Ajue, Odigbo LGA.
One suspect was arrested, and officers recovered three bags filled with suspected counterfeit dollar notes.


The case began after businessman Yusuf Nasiru from Okitipupa reported that two men tricked him during a currency exchange involving $6,000. When he later checked the notes, he discovered they were fake and alerted the police.
Investigators traced one of the suspects to the hideout and raided the location on October 29, 2026.
Other suspects escaped, but the arrested man is giving useful information.
Ondo State Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu has ordered a full investigation to track down the remaining members of the counterfeit network.
