Tuesday In House

Hailings to a wonderful rest of the day......

TUESDAY MEMO
I salute oh.....
I hope that your day is going on well……
I feel sick just coming from watching a Facebook video where someone was wacking okro soup with yellow garri…. All these dirty content creators will not make someone hate food oh....
The lump of yellow garri fell to the ground and it was picked up, thrown in the air and it landed on dirty hands and they started rolling very big lumps to swallow with the fine looking seafood okro…….
I have decided that this week i will try to make small okro soup….LOL....I also wanna try my hands at making asaro the way i used to buy it all mashed up in Nigeria...…...So many things i feel lke eating eh....The other day i saw a video of yam porridge and i thought it was soup cos of all the things inside...I sighted chicken wings inside...lol

A woman who marries a Nigerian man and does not know how to cook is in trouble cos they will find a good cook somewhere else and be going there with their friends……..I have a friend in Nigeria and when i was there, hmmmm every weekend was always with friends of everyone in the house cos my friend makes the best jollof rice and buka stew…
Every Sunday was date....
When she fell in love and started dating, she transferred the Sunday cooking to the guys house and he was living with other siblings, so all their friends would gather in their house every Sunday while in her house there was no one to cook anymore...The guy quickly married her and that tradition is still on...he does not look for food outside and is always home after work because she always has a surprise food waiting for him…..Nice right?

I try to do like that too but with other foods oh and when i cant we order for….
Let me ask you women here...You take food hold your husband for work or nah love?
If your husband is never home cos of your bad food, he may be in the house of someone who prepares correct afang soup and street buka stew …..
LOL
Enjoy the rest of your day…..
I am off to buy some ram cut meat for Tomate sauce….I read that too much ram meat is not healthy and i was shocked...i also read that too much pig meat is not good oh...….

TEACHER LIFE

The other day, I was teaching my class about the birth of Jesus.
Immediately, the children started contributing.
“My mummy is pregnant.”
“My aunty is pregnant.”
“My uncle’s wife is pregnant.”
Everybody suddenly had a pregnant person in their family.
Then, from somewhere in the class, I heard a tiny voice:
“My mummy’s sister that is living in our house is pregnant like Mary because she is not married and the man don’t want to marry her.”
Then she added:
“That big head man!” Maybe Angel Gabriel would talk to him in the night like Joseph.
Haaaa!!!
I did not ask her for any more information.
But chai...
I would have loved to know the full story.
Children will bring family meeting to your classroom and just drop the microphone. Indeed, kids say the darnedest things.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Please help me laugh!!!
This was me as a little girl ooooooooooooooooooh...Just dont let me see anything inside cause its outside i will table the discussion with ...hahahahahahahahahahaha chai!!
Who also amebo like this when they were small?

5 Good Things About Healthy Competition And The Harmful Effects Of Unhealthy Competition

Healthy competition can motivate people to grow, improve, and discover their strengths. But unhealthy competition does the opposite as it damages confidence, relationships, and emotional wellbeing.

Here are five clear points on both sides and what each does to people:
Healthy Competition

-----Builds confidence
It pushes people to try new things and believe in their abilities.

----Encourages growth
It motivates learning, skill development, and personal improvement.

---Strengthens teamwork
People learn to support one another while still aiming for excellence.

-----Improves focus and discipline
It teaches consistency, planning, and commitment.

-----Creates positive motivation
It inspires people to do better without feeling threatened or inferior.

Unhealthy Competition

----Breeds jealousy and resentment
People begin to see others as enemies instead of partners.

Destroys self‑esteem
-----cnstant comparison makes individuals feel inadequate or unworthy.

------Creates pressure and anxiety
The fear of losing becomes stronger than the desire to improve.

-----Breaks relationships
Friends, siblings, colleagues, and even spouses can grow apart.

-----Promotes bitterness instead of growth
People focus on beating others instead of becoming better versions of themselves.

Healthy competition builds people.
Unhealthy competition breaks them.

Having Friends Who Come Through in Difficult Times Is a Blessing

Having friends who show up in difficult moments is one of life’s greatest gifts.

These are the people who stand beside you when things get heavy, who listen without judgment, and who remind you that you are not alone. Their support brings comfort, strength, and peace in ways words cannot fully explain.

In a world where many disappear when challenges arise, friends who come through are rare and precious. They make hard seasons easier to bear and turn painful moments into reminders that love still exists.
Such friendships are rare, if you find it, please keep it.

****************
How Entitlement Mentality Destroys Friendships

It creates imbalance
One person keeps taking without giving, and the friendship becomes one‑sided.

It breeds resentment
Constant demands make the other person feel used and unappreciated.

It kills respect
When someone feels entitled, they stop valuing boundaries and effort.

It drains emotional energy
Friends get tired of always being the “provider” or “rescuer.”

It turns friendship into obligation
Instead of genuine connection, the relationship becomes a burden.

*******************

Why You Must Earn a Living No Matter What

Financial independence gives freedom
You make your own choices without depending on anyone.

It builds confidence
Knowing you can provide for yourself strengthens your self‑worth.

It protects you from manipulation
People cannot control you with money when you have your own.

It secures your future
You have something to fall back on during emergencies or life changes.

It earns respect
Society values people who contribute, work, and stand on their own feet.

Healthy friendships require balance.
A stable life requires income.
Both protect your peace of mind.

  1. From my personal observations, Stella, I've noticed a recurring pattern: some female BVs (blog visitors) are often quick to attack male BVs, especially when a man expresses an opinion that differs from theirs. The situation sometimes gets worse when they notice that you ( stella)'re showing solidarity with a male BV who is being attacked simply for expressing his views.

Let's be clear: WE ARE NOT HERE TO FIGHT A GENDER WAR!

Every voice matters, every contribution counts, and every BV deserves to be heard and respected. The last time I checked, this blog was not created exclusively for women. There are many men who visit and read this blog daily but deliberately choose not to comment. Their silence does not mean they are absent, uninterested or irrelevant.

Disagreeing with a man's opinion does not give anyone the right to ridicule, intimidate or gang up against him. Equally, I condemn the unnecessary attacks on female BVs. Respect must be mutual, not selective.

We need to understand that people can disagree without becoming enemies. You don't have to share someone's opinion to respect their right to express it.

What I find particularly disappointing is the casual use of derogatory expressions such as "pick-me ladies" or calling women desperate simply because a few women happen to agree with a particular man's opinion.

Why should someone be labelled or insulted simply because they hold a different perspective? Must every woman who disagrees with the majority be given a derogatory label? And must every man who expresses an unpopular opinion become a target?

Let's stop turning ordinary discussions into gender competitions.

Also, showing solidarity with someone who is being unfairly attacked does not automatically mean you endorse everything that person says. Sometimes, it simply means you believe in fairness and the right to be treated with dignity.

Remember, you don't have to agree with someone to defend their right to speak. Last Sunday I read where you guys were pressuring a guy not to comment on every post. Who raise some of you? Is the plan for you chase all the male bvs away here. You only want the simping ones to remain because you can ride those ones without stress?

This platform should be a place where people learn, exchange ideas, challenge perspectives and sometimes even change their minds. Nobody has a monopoly on knowledge, and anybody can learn from anybody, regardless of gender, age, background or social status.

Let's disagree intelligently, debate constructively and leave personal attacks out of meaningful conversations.

A man's voice matters. A woman's voice matters. Respect should not have a gender.

    Thank you.

    2. Anon 14:01,

I will title this as "When dissent becomes an offence"

You captured it very well. When a woman shares a dissenting opinion that does not align with the popular narrative, she gets attacked and called all sorts of unprintable names like "pick me" and "desperate."

Those who do this simply do not want any man here to have any form of support from women. Funny enough, you will see a fellow man joining them to rubbish another man, just to score points.

One thing I have learnt in life is this. When a man starts pandering for women's validation to the point of throwing his fellow men under the bus, a time will come when the same women he pandered to will roast him the day he tries to correct them. It has happened here and we all saw how it played out.

Like someone rightly said, and I agree with him, you cannot spoil a woman and decide to unspoil her. The day you try it, your own will spoil.

At the end of the day, we all know what we are doing.

    7. Nicely written 👌

What annoys me most is how quickly women are labelled "pick me" simply for thinking differently or for choosing not to blindly take sides in every situation. It is this constant need to box women in that paints feminism in such a negative light. No wonder every unpleasant attitude is blamed on the movement. We don't have to reason alike to respect each other. Sisterhood was never meant to be competition. It was meant to be a safe space for different voices to coexist.

      Delete
    8. I was going to write "nice take” until I saw this part of your comment, “You only want the simping ones to remain here because you can ride those ones without stress?”

You ended up acting like the very women you were admonishing. You were asking some women not to demean men while demeaning certain categories of men yourself. “The simping ones” whom women can “ride without stress.” Your wording suggests that those men are weak, easily controlled or exploited by women. There's a contradiction here. While insisting that men should be treated with dignity, you ended up using same derogatory characterisation of certain men to make your argument.

Judging by the looks of things, I'm not even sure anymore, whether men and women will ever reach common ground on this forum because you can advocate for it and have good intentions, yet still hold the very ingrained beliefs you're criticising without even realising it.

At this point, it's not merely about avoiding name-calling anymore, but about respecting other people's opinions. You wouldn't resort to name-calling in the first place if you genuinely understood that other people are entitled to their opinions and while you are free to challenge and criticise those opinions, you are meant to do so only within the confines of mutual respect and constructive criticism.

    11. I just read Teejay's take too, and there are so many loopholes. The same thing that women who call their fellow women pick-me are criticised for is playing out in his comment.

Whenever a woman supports a man, the 'pick-me chanters' say she is seeking male validation and looking for a husband, disregarding the fact that she is entitled to her opinion and is not obligated to show unquestionable loyalty to another woman simply because they share the same gender.

Why can't she just support a man in peace if she feels he is right, even if her fellow women think otherwise? Must she reason like you?

When a man also supports a woman, you, Teejay, imply that he is pandering for women's validation to the point of throwing his fellow men under the bus. Why can't he just support a woman in peace if he feels she is right, even if you and other men think otherwise without anyone policing his comments and having a demeaning perception of it?

What do you mean by saying he is throwing his fellow man under the bus? If, in his eyes, he feels his fellow man deserves to be thrown under the bus, why should he avoid doing so simply because they share the same gender?

Isn't this what some women do here, which gets them called derogatory names simply because they throw their fellow women under the bus without caring that they share the same gender?

So why is it an issue when a man does it because he feels justified in doing so, especially to men like you and the initial poster who do not share his views?

Can't you see you men are still using the exact same psychological bullying tactics as those women who try to silence women who do not agree with them? You only changed the vocabulary but it is still the same thing

I just feel sorry for the women who I can tell are open to fairness but can't see through the hidden double standards and biases some of you still hold.

According to information, the incident happened a day before yesterday. The driver, who only operates in the evenings, stopped another driver yesterday morning been the vehicle I was and disclosed what happened. He left his phone number and asked that if anyone hears someone talking about money they forgot in a vehicle, they should contact him.

Our driver only told us passengers what happened after the other driver left. It was then I thought the best step would have been for him to go to a radio station for an announcement.

There are still good people out there.

  14. Good afternoon my people, how are y'all doing today?

After school, I had a very rich uncle and my dad told him I was looking for work in hospitality industries. As a big guy in lagos he ask me come to over , that he will make sure I get a good job.
My people na so I pack go lagos, this my uncle and his wife turn me to their personal cook. Like I practically don't leave the kitchen till 8pm. Once he knew I try my best in kitchen department. The wife left the whole cooking to me and start telling his friends, the come straight from office. Some days he will send for full goat to be delivered home before he gets back. I will make pepper soup or grill it. Some days fish plenty. I will fry, grill and cook ,one person each dayLike I was living in the kitchen. I stay for 6 months like that.
I kept asking what of the work you promised me before coming, story upon story. Like they stop hanging out and kept coming home to stress me out. Like 10men today 15 tomorrow including women oh. And he wasn't paying me for this work oo.(Some rich people and using the helpless)
Once I saw he was comfortable using and is not willing to help, I ran ohhh,e shock am.
And the worse part, I don't go for shopping in buying the things I'm cooking, like I just make a list and the send someone to get them for me. Atlist if I was going to market,I could have saved small small money for myself. Nothing nothing.
I work up one morning o told him face to face that I was leaving, I can see u just want to use me and let die old here. He Complained and said I am impatient, he has big plans for me(story). I left and till today I haven't heard from him or his wife.

Very big Guy in lagos ooo, if you find out his related to me, you won't believe why I'm living like this.

Some will claim they will stick to him not because he’s done well but because they haven’t found a better candidate.

But when it was GEJ’s turn, they said they should just try anybody and if it doesn’t work, they will vote the person out (Akuko Mike Ejeagha)

In my own opinion, if you love good food and your woman does not know how to, you can simply teach her if you know how to. It shouldn't be an excuse for having another woman outside.
And, we should also know that this cooking of a thing, is in one's destiny. Some people are naturally good cooks both male and female and some people can never get it right no matter how they try.
Overall, having a good home made meal is still the best

  18. This “cook for your man so he won’t wander” advice never ends. A grown man who will sleep with anybody because she feeds him needs self-control, not another pot of soup. Today it’s food, tomorrow it’s something else, and before long, stories of juju and witchcraft enter the matter. Must we turn every man’s choices into a woman’s responsibility? Cook out of love, yes, but nobody should have to spend her life in the kitchen guarding another adult’s faithfulness. A full stomach is not a faithful heart.

    1. Thank you!!! You saved me a whole lot of stress. That advice doesn't sit right. If his wife can't cook well, what exactly is stopping him from cooking? 23. When my ex boss's fiancée was away at school, he fell ill and couldn't find anyone to cook for him. Everyone he called was busy, so he reached out to me, and I was happy to help. Being a Yoruba man, he wanted something heavy and filling. I suggested Afang soup and fufu. He asked, What's that? He had never even heard of it, but he said, If you're sure I'll love it, go ahead.

We all know Afang soup isn't cheap to make, so when I told him the price, he didn't argue at all...he just sent the money. I went to the market, got the ingredients, cooked it up at my place, and packed it into a cooler for him. Omoh! One taste and he was blown away. It tasted like something made directly in heaven. He fell in love with my cooking and immediately hired me to make Afang soup for him every week, paying me very generously for it.

He always offered to help fill my gas cylinder, and I happily let him. Sometimes, he even gave me a day off just so I could cook Afang soup for him.

One day, he asked me to wait after work because he needed to tell me something. He told me to please get into the front seat of his car so we could talk.
The first thing he said was, "You are from Akwa Ibom, right?"
    I said, "Yes."
    "But you look Fulani?"
I said, "I hear that always, but I'm not."
He now said, "I like you" MY HEART FIRST DO GBIM! And then he went on to say,..."I like your eyes, they are lovely; you've got a fine, pointed nose, lovely eyes, beautiful lips, fine skin color, and you can cook. To crown it all, you are intelligent, hardworking, you have respect, and you are from Akwa Ibom. Will you date me?" LOL 😏
I smiled, and then I said, "First, you are my boss, and I'm well aware that you have a fiancée you are sponsoring in school that you want to marry. Why then do you want to date me?"
And then he said, "Because I have come to love you."
And then I said, "And your girlfriend?"
He then said, "It doesn't matter."
Then I said, "So you are willing to cheat on your girlfriend with me?"
He replied and said that he has come to love me and wouldn't want to lose me; moreover, he is a man..it doesn't matter.
And then I muttered, "Wow! It doesn't matter? Some men will not enter heaven."
To cut a long story short, my reply was "No!"

This is a very long story. What am I trying to say?
If a man decides to cheat or leave because of a plate of food, the problem is not the food; the problem is him. If his love depends only on soup and stew, then the love was never strong to begin with.
