Desperate Nigerian Man Jailed For Attempting To Marry 3 Women.

''Chei na who send me message oooh''

DailyMail is reporting that Chinedu Amadi, from Nigeria, raised suspicions among staff at Leicester register office when he struggled to remember his own address.
His Hungarian bride also appeared to suffer a temporary blip in her memory as she failed to recall her future husband's name.....lol

The fears of registrar Debra Webster were confirmed three months later when Amadi, 27, arrived for his wedding in January not only an hour late, but with a different woman.

After being turned away, he returned to the same register office again - on Valentine's day. This time he was accompanied by a third woman, Hungarian Szilvia Basco-Porkolab, 38.

Despite his attempts to claim his bride only looked different because she had previously worn a wig, investigations by immigration officials revealed Amadi had paid a 'fixer' £5,000 to arrange a sham wedding to an EU national.

Authorities also found Basco-Porkolab had a mystery of participating in sham marriages, while the first bride was uncovered as Rubin Durgos, 39, of Coalville, Leicestershire.

All three brides along with Amadi were jailed on Thursday at Leicester Crown Court.
Neil Bannister, prosecuting, told the court: "The offences came to light with the intended marriage, initially, between Durgos and Amadi.

"Durgos struggled to pronounce the first name of Amadi and he struggled to remember his address.
"Mrs Webster also thought the couple were being excessively affectionate and gained the impression they were trying too hard to demonstrate they were a couple."

Basco-Porkolab admitted two counts of conspiracy to breach immigration laws relating to sham marriages and was jailed for 34 months.
Amadi and Durgos, admitting similar counts, were both jailed for 20 months.

*This is what the bad economic situation in Niferia has turned my fellow Nigerians into. Some even marry women old enough to be their great grandmothers just to remain in a country outside of Nigeria.
His case is just one amongst millions.I pray his time behind bars gives him a different orientation.

Blog visitor, whats your take on young eligible and handsome Nigerian men guilty of this trend?will it ever stop?

  2. The government should make it easier for these kinds of people to regularise. That money is better in the hands of the government to pay for a work permit. Assess them well, make sure they have a paper trail and give them a one year permit renewable every year for 5 years or so. That's the only way they can stem this.

  6. Desperation for kpali. There are a lot of benefitteds for being a Britain, u are receive unemployed benefits, queue in Job Centre for others benefitted. You are also receive a council flat, you will get NHS discountment, etc. So I doesn't blame Amadi for desperate wanted a Red Passport. Lifestyle in British is quiteing easier. But a corrective measurements should be to revoke citizenshipment of couples who doesn't last more than a year in marriages and sent them back to their country.

    2. You are a Burger King flaming Hot mess. Lol. Give Amado a Lil break, man. At least he go dey chop bake beans, bangers and mash for inside, behind the walls. He fit kukuma change the law and marry all three of the scheming Euro trash, money hungry, illiterates at the same time and place. It's people like them that make things harder for everyone. Anyway, the brides can enjoy their honeymoons in the slammer. These are the type that commit identity theft. As for Amadi,he is a disgrace to Nigeria. He could have dated and married an Oyinbo girl on a slower pace, but he too is the hustle type. Too bad sha and let's hope he doesn't drop the soap...

Happy birthday to you, whoever you are and if I had the money, I would have contributed some money towards getting you a PAGANI forget Lamb, which is too slow. Enjoy the cake for all of us sha and don't drink and drive Ok. My uncle na police officer and we go dey on the lookout for your car on your big day, enjoy.

  7. Please we shouldn't criticize the Britons for their brashness..it is our people we should castigate for continuing to embarrass us. It is people like this that caused them to pass the new rule that we have to pay 3,000pounds upon entering the UK border. This is absurd.

Not as if its new, I mean, if u don't get caught, ur luck. But I must say that the majority of the Nigerians living abroad, those who have no legal permits to reside there, are the ones who engage in fraudulent acts the most. If you genuinely seek to live there, and u engage in a legal venture, even if u reside there illegally, its even better. The United States, the UK etc, also have their home citizens who are suffering too...but they stay put to survive. The only advantage is that their govt provide adequate welfares to sustain them, unlike in Nigeria. Otherwise, why would anyone leave home without any visible source of income, hoping that a miracle will happen once they land the UK or wherever?

If u are lazy in your home country, you'll be lazy over there too. The only thing that'll change is the weather, but u are still the same person with the same mental reasoning. So I really don't blame these pple for their brashness. They are paying taxes, so no tax payer will be happy that someone from another country is unduly benefiting from their collective hardworks. And it is not their fault that you have a govt who doesn't attend to the needs of its citizenry. Its quite an embarrassment.
