Presidency Calls Obasanjo A Greedy,Indecent And Spineless Coward.....REPLY OF LIFE!

We asked  here if President Jonathan should reply Ex President Obasanjo's explosive mail and most of you said he shouldnt...sorry to disappoint you but he did.
Read his Reuben Abati led press release

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday categorized former president Olusegun Obasanjo among those he called “spineless cowards” driven by “sheer greed and indecency”, in an outburst over allegations he has authorized the training of a killer squad ahead of the 2015 elections.
The president said those peddling the allegation that snipers are being trained by his government should better substantiate the claim or “shut up forever.”
“President Jonathan is running a people’s government. He does not need any snipers. His legitimacy comes from the people,” the president’s spokesperson, Reuben Abati, said in a statement late Sunday. “Those who are alleging the existence of snipers should step forward and provide the evidence or shut up forever and go down in history as spineless cowards, driven by sheer greed and indecency.”
The allegation first came to light in an 18-page letter by Mr. Obasanjo to the president.
On Sunday, the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, citing Mr. Obasanjo’s letter, told the president in a statement it was unbothered by any scale of ruthlessness of his government against dissent, and vowed a “stiff resistance” henceforth against acts of impunity by the Jonathan administration.
The president rebuked the APC’s allegation as a “false copy-cat” that clearly shows that the party was in “cahoots with other elements who are bent on discrediting his administration and inciting the public against it.
Though coming as a response to APC’s earlier statement, the president’s angry reply also appeared a subtle response to Mr. Obasanjo’s scorching letter, in which he accused the president of corruption, ineptitude and impunity.
Sunday’s response would be the presidency’s second since PREMIUM TIMES published Mr. Obasanjo’s letter Wednesday.
Also, the remarks would be the presidency’s first direct reply to any of the numerous issues raised by Mr. Obasanjo in the 18-page letter.
Besides the purported training of snipers, the former president also accused Mr. Jonathan of currently keeping over 1,000 people on his political watch list, and secretly acquiring weapons, for political purposes, for a killer squad, comparable to the Abacha-era hit squad.
Mr. Obasanjo said the “snipers” were being trained at the same place the late Head of State, Sani Abacha, trained his own killer squad.
“Allegation of keeping over 1000 people on political watch list rather than criminal or security watch list and training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and clandestinely acquiring weapons to match for political purposes like Abacha and training them where Abacha trained his own killers, if it is true, it cannot augur well for the initiator, the government and the people of Nigeria,” Mr. Obasanjo said in the letter dated December 2.
Mr. Obasanjo said the president would always remember that he was elected to maintain security for all Nigerians and protect them, warning that no one should prepare to kill or maim them (Nigerians) for personal or political ambition or interest of anyone.
Quoting a Yoruba adage that says: “The man with whose head coconut is broken may not live to savour the taste of the succulent fruit,” Mr. Obasanjo said those who advised him (Jonathan) to go hard on those opposed to him were his worst enemies.

He added, “Democratic politics admits and is permissible of supporters and opponents. When the consequences come, those who have wrongly advised you will not be there to help carry the can. Egypt must teach some lesson.”

*President Jonathan  i am shy to give you this advice but at this point in time and in history,i may have to beg you to sack whoever advises you!

Abati has lost it,just the way Segun Adeniyi who lied to Nigerian several. Times during the time of Late Yardua on his state of health

  3. Obasanjo wrote in 18pages why he is a fool. I will write him a hundred pages why he should shut up. Anybody who supports obasanjo and the northern caliphates is a born fool.

    2. @tony ihekire, obasanjo may not be a saint but his letter has said it all and u should be worried if you are a normal human being ,instead of being blinded by sentiments

    3. @Tony, attack Obasanjo's message and not the messenger.btw I think u are the foolish one here and even more clueless than ur president. In as much as Obasanjo never performed and with the fact that Yorubas did not believe he was competent enough to be president, hence not vote for him and even lost in his state (Ogun). But then Jonathan is the worst democratically elected president in Nigeria. He is corrupt/ supports corruption, incompetent, a failure, biased, and the highest fraud and mismanagement of govt funds has been and still happening in his tenure. E.g oil subsidy fraud, Sure-P, 50billion dollars crude oil money missing in NNPC, Stella Oduagate et al. The list is endless, but I guess Nigerians are wise now. It's just a matter of time

    4. Whether u call Obj,hiss supporters and the northern caliphate fools becos of ur tribal and religious sentiments, the bigger fool still remains ur President Goodluck that does not know his left from his right.
He is the worst thing that has happened to nigeria and until he's out with his badluck,we will have no peace.

    5. Tony probably sucked from the same sour breast as Jonathan did, hence, he cannot see anything wrong with what he's doing. If we have to put OBJ on the side for a minute, before this letter was issued we've always had a fundamental issue that the present administration has refused to address. It is convenient to criticise OBJ now because if this letter, when the man could have observed a golden silence like the other ex presidents who are still alive, but watching and perhaps conducting a low key propaganda against GEJ.

Yes it is true that OBJ made some mistakes that we are perhaps still suffering today, one of which is what brought about GEJ in the first place to become president by default...or luck, as u all like to say. But btw the lines in OBJ's letter are salient points and warped innuendos that is clearly suggesting that war may be eminent in Nigeria if care isn't taken. Pray tell. No coup is projected without the help of the military intelligence. Don't u think that OBJ is implying this? Or am I the only person who's assuming?

The man was a military man, once a soldier always a soldier...same as IBB..Jonathan doesn't have half the intelligence OBJ has accrued both as a military man and as president. His foresight is what GEJ should be enjoying, and trust me we will not be in this situation...well at least not as much.

I understand that OBJ can be domineering, and GEJ is opposing him and doesn't want to be a passive president under his directives. Fair enough, but they are ways to approach an elder states man without resorting to these nonsense. If JONATHAN was smart, he should have approached OBJ after that letter to ask what he wants of him as far as Nigeria. Honestly, am not asking anyone to kiss OBJ's behind o...but he's a necessary evil. yes he can be a nuisance, but his nuisance value far out weights the negativity.

It is Clark and Co that are misleading GEJ because they despise OBJ. But with OBJ and IBB put together, I think that GEJ will have it a lot easier. I know some people will come and insult me, but if u are one of those who insist that GEJ should call OBJ's bluff, fine. Proffer us a solution..what can slow GEJ do by himself? So far, what has he achieved other than the fact that we continue to sink into a deep state of anarchy, whilst he's nursing his 2015 ambition to our detriment. And I believe that's the grievance OBJ has with him today. Clueless president with foolish advisers and spokesmen. Reuben became foolish the day he stepped foot intop Aso Rock...hian

I feel irritated reading all these scripts by our so called president;always lost in the wind and short of ideas at all times. It's high time he steps aside,to say the truth,he his causing more harm than good,or better still,he could also end this unsuccessful regime by throwing the towel to his "second term" agenda come may 2015.
I am not proud of him and can never be!!!it hurts to see this country remain at d same spot since 1960...am exasperated with his replies to all critics!he shd just go to blazes!!!

GEJ is not competent enough to rule Nigeria! His administration i think is worse than Abacha's.

  16. If we're to judge these two{OBJ AND GEJ} based on performance the GEJ is far better. Our railway lines are now working albeit in an archaic form, dead rail lines are being re-opened, and for the first time we're now moving petroleum products via trains, it is a good sign. The Electricity has been privatised, electricity supply should improve drastically. These are areas where OBJ failed. But unfortunately, insecurity is the order of the Day.
I am not a GEJ fan but yes, i repeat yes he has performed better than OBJ... GOD BLESS NAIJA

    1. My brother, railway line compared to the huge debts GEJ hasput us..and is still putting us, cos he keeps borrowing o. While during baba's time we had a clean bill of debt plus enough money in our reserve. Isn't that wisdom compared to reckless spending? And what did they use the monies for? Abeg railway isn't an achievement in comparison to joblessness .. Subsidy buahaha....airline mishaps, the boko haram insurgency...and the list is endless. you can't compare both thier terms abeg....the difference is clear.

      Delete
    2. Mrs Zulu you just mentioned air line mishaps, was it GEJ flying the planes? And tell me, didn't OBJ's tenure record at least 2 air mishap? What I see here is that in other to slander GEJ successfully you have decided to give him a bad name. Yes agreed he is not doing well as expected but going on n on about stuffs that existed even before he became president is kinda annoying already.

      Delete
    3. Anon3:19pm u clearly did not understand me. I have not attributed any plane crash to Jonathan or his regime at all. And Why did u choose to select just the aviation bit of all the examples I cited? We can even choose to blame him for it at any rate, becos if he puts the right person there to ensure that all the aircrafts are safe, perhaps air mishaps will be minimal. Same with the other ministires... health, education etc. didn't doctors recently take to striking again? When asuu hasn't rounded off thiers just yet? So pls tell me who to blame o. I have no personal issues with Jonathan, but as a citizen it is my right to criticise him as I deem fit. No apologies.

He believes that Nigerians are fools that is why he thinks that he can push us to any idiot he likes as our president and d suffering will continue. Imagine Obj asking Nigerians to accept corrupt Lamido as our 2015 president.Obj is our problem. U pple shd be careful cos all this politicians are selfish and they are not fighting cos of our interest .As soon as war breaks out in d country, d will disapear leaving u and I behind. 28. Mrs Zulu OBJ left us with a clean bill of health financially??? What he did was get a debt relief for us, which brought down foriegn debts! What about our domestic debt? Till today, our foriegn portfolio is still okay, fD stands @ about 7-8b$ while domestic debt is over 28b$... Mrs Zulu our external reserves shrinked mainly due to the Global financial meltdown, infact one reason the meltdown did not affect us that much was due to the ECA{Excess crude Account} God bless OBJ for this initiative...
Finally, mrs Zulu GEJ is also saving, we now have a Soveriegn Wealth Fund, an savings and investment portfolio that will drive the future of this country, remember ECA was an unconstitutional account... GEJ has failed as a leader yes! But he has performed far better than OBJ... God Bless Naija, God bless u aunty Stella, God bless all SDKers
