Pastor Tunde Bakare Quote

''If time were sufficient to talk about security, I would talk about how that since 2010 over 400 bombs have exploded in Nigeria with lives and limbs lost, property destroyed and families devastated. Yes, little gains have been made but this framework of State cannot keep pace with the aspirations of the Nigerian in us.

The jacket just does not fit. This is not the nation our founding fathers envisioned; this is not the nation that liberators like Gani suffered and died for; this is not the nation of our dreams; this is not the embodiment of our aspirations, the ideal for which we strive as a people.''

    4. @ Anon 11.07, the Pastor only gave his intellectual opinion on the country's state of affairs. If you don't agree with his sentiments, why not just say so and state your reason instead of resorting to insults?

    6. Somebody should ask Pastor why he did not make any comments when his bosom buddy and running mate was promising doom and bloodshed because their pair did not win in 2011. Somebody should also ask Pastor what we should do about the threats of his buddy that materialized. While we are still in the holy presence of pastor, please ask him to beg his buddy to tell the perpetrators of violence to stop; and also remind pastor that as a Christian, even if one doesn't agree with the antics of a government, Romans 13 says we should pray for the government in charge. God can and will guide them. Finally, tell Pastor that the rotation system in democracy means that if you don't win an election, you can wait for the next one rather than antagonise and heckle an incumbent government. It is counter productive to our collective Nigerian goal.

    8. My own is very simple. I got to know pastor Bakare exists only during the last general elections. While I do not have any Problem with any pastor who feels that his calling along pastoring is to become a politician, albeit there are too many inconsistencies with this man and his counterpart, Chris Okotie.

As both have declared that it is the Lord who asked them to contest for the respective office. Yet, none has been considered the post so far. Absolutely between them and their God. My own issue is simple, God doesn't call a man and then indulge him in a conflict of authority. Ask Moses, David, Joshua and co. The God that I know, would have gone ahead of you to make every crooked line straight. Even though u may encounter difficulties, you'll prevail in the end. Perhaps somebody will tell me that these men of God are yet to prevail,?no problem.

Another issue is this, how can you serve God and corrupt Nigeria(ns) at a time? The system is so corrupt that even God shrugs at us, and I am amazed that Pastor Bakare is still able to register with political parties who have different spiritual beliefs that contradicts his own. Yet he wants to Lord and talk over them with authority as a man of God and he expects them to listen? Like u didn't know them before aligning with them?

Pastor, What u condemn these politicians for can only be taken seriously if u spoke from ur pulpit as a rep of God exclusively and independent of any political affiliations. Otherwise I see u as a political opposition who's slandering the other as it is expected in politics. U cannot wake up one day and speak as a politician and then expect us to accord u the reverence that is due a man of God..when even u are confused.

You can not use God as a weapon of authority to condemn anyone because/when ur argument as a politician has become weak, it is simply a monopolistic approach that makes u seem un transparent. Don't be lukewarm, make up ur mind and stick to God or politics. How do u want to even serve God and Nigeria at a time? Assuming office is already time consuming, how do u want to be a shepherd in the vine yard with all the grave issues Nigeria is facing? U ain't no super man u know.

    1. Exactly. I personally think that serving God in any capacity is greater and more befitting than being the world president. Adeboye had been rated one of the top 50 most influential men in the world. He didn't garner that because he serves man, its because he serves God and God alone. However ..not to say that serving man is bad...but how does one who serves God suddenly starts to urge to be a politician? it beats me.

    2. Notting is wrong with someone who serve God bringing change we need as country and being vocal to our rotten society and leaders. If keeping quite to the ill of Nigeria as other pastors do how can we bring about change. As Nigerians love churches and not God is good for our churches leaders to preach n bring changes. If our church leaders preach more about change and good governance in churches more than wealth am very sure our leaders will change their attitude. Anyone who can change our society from our fraudulent leaders is welcomed.
