Nigerian Soldiers Are Dying In Large Numbers.....

''Post humous National honours should be accorded men who die in the line of serving their motherland and those running have a right to life!''......Stella Dimoko Korkus

This mail came in this morning

Please read and step forward with a detailed arguement for or against....

''Good morning Stella,  I trust you're good and i hope this mail reaches you in good time. I'm an ardent reader of your blog and I just felt I should share this. Am I a soldier or not, that's best known to me.

All I want to say is that soldiers are doing their best to make sure that there is peace in this country Nigeria. I was in the presence of two soldiers, one who just came back from Adamawa and the other one who was supposed to go there but refused and is being detained for cowardice and as both of them were discussing, the one being detained kept on asking this other one for several soldiers and his replies gave me goose bumps all over.

All his replies sounded this way, "ah, that one, he died during the first attack", "that one, we don't even know his whereabout", "oga saidu, they captured him, told him to talk to his family then they killed him".

Trust me I have heard a lot of sorry stories and all these soldiers that give up there lives have families, so it's painful to now come online and see people that know nothing about what's going on criticize soldiers, saying they don't know what they are doing. Yes they signed up to serve this country, not to die...''

Sent by Lord Fredrick

Lord Fredrick honey there is probably a clause that most soldiers are not reading well....Signing up to protect the country also involves standing in front of a bullet, catching a grenade and doing whatever it takes to make the country survive.
No one bargains to die in the line of duty.I just do not like the way your bosses at the top are handling the mutiny matter.National honours should be accorded men who die to serve their Motherland and those running have a right to life!

Somebody correct me if i got this wrong.

  1. Stella you are right, around the world soliders signed to protect their country which includes taking a bullet, even in the era of kings, warriors where meant to fight and defend the country against rebels and wars, the only thing that should be done is to remember and honour them and also give their families compensation for a lifetime
I for one would like to be a solider

    1. Yea Stella u are right tho buh when many of this soldiers came in they never expected things to be this way , ok because they've signed their lives does that mean the president shouldn't provide them adequate tools? Where are all the boko boys they've been arresting?

    2. Help me ask o. Our soldiers are doing their best to protect this ctry, but the problem is lack of Mordern n sophisticated weapons to match that of the so called boko haram, if the had those weapons by now these insurgency issues would. Have been forgotten. Yes the signed up their life to fight and in dey process die for their ctry but not in dis way nw. They r given ak47 with 10rounds of bulllet to fight with pple with propeller, Haba it's unjust and wicked. This wasn't wht the signed up for now. The govt shud provide dey much needed equipment n see if our vibrant soldiers will not do their work.

    3. @ Sweet Malo chic I love that part you asked where are the boko boys they arrested? They are suppose to charge them to court execute them immediately. No need keeping them
firing squad. If them nuh no how to fire make them come I go teach them. Becos the penalty of killing should be death. The judge does not need to judge long just one sitting he/ She gives judgement

    4. All I know is that anyone who signs up with a force in any country across the world should first of all be considered brave and be saluted.

Whether they now die 'cowards" is not important to me. At any rate, no soldier who dies on the line of duty is a coward. The ones who have refused to go to war are being called cowards because they fear for their lives, as they are being thrown out without adequate ammunition.
If they have to take a bullet like Stella said, at least they should have exhausted their own bullets before having to die. Not facing or taking a bullet with an empty gun, that is gross foolishness.

Without having a defense mechanism why would I agree to go to war? I would rather die a coward in jail than die a foolish soldier in uniform. Nonsense

  2. Yea i heard they do sign this death warrant agreement or sumfin... Anything can happen to them in d line of duty but its obvious noone cares abt them....And they are taking this mutiny thing too far. I understand soldiers are trained to be ruthless but haba ! it doesnt make sense sentencing people to death for flimsy excuses!

    1. In Army Mutiny Offence is Death. Let me tell you now sef. Most of these Soliders that were charged for Mutiny are mostly the Northerns(Islam). They are having sympathy for the Bokoharams. have thought of this, are they the only soliders asked to go fight the insurgency? They are lying they were not given enough arms. Do u these same soliders are sabotages. They give information to the bokoharams that the Armies are coming, They even kill their fellow soliders in the battle front. I am saying this from a reliable source. My Father is a General but a Medical Doctor. They deserve their punishment. Most of us are having sympathy for them because we are joining from outside. Before I was saying same the punishment was too much.

  3. So because they are serving their father's land they must face the bullet abi! At the end of the day now no better compensation for the family they left behind. If them like you at most they give you one gun salute. Father Lord if you want to pity me and give me a force man, papa mbok let him be a white dove naval officer. And if he's gonna be an army officer let him jejely work in the admin department. I no fit cry mbok *again*

    1. My dear, let's face the truth, Nigeria is not worth dying for. The soldiers that dies in the line of duty, how well are their families doing now? The living ones that have retired have a hard time getting their pensions not to talk of dead ones.

  5. Being a soldier means dying for your people at the war front. It takes a lot being a soldier. This is the main reason why i can't marry a soldier or even a policeman. God forbid! Le boo, i hope you are not one of these? If not, park well, bounce out, get lost!

  6. Stellz, u didn't get it wrong at all, they have the right to life, but instead they have chosen to kill them,to what gain at the end of the day? this is human life 4 christ sake and we are all equal beings!

Notwithstanding, they signed up to fight for the nation,so I don't know what to say abt this!

    R.I.P to the fallen soldiers!

  10. BLOG ANALYSER: Point of correction, when people critise soldiers it is not those ones in the battlefield. They are talking abt the senior officers who do not go to the battle field. They seat in their offices nd quote millions of naira all in the name of ending BH. Whether these millions get to the soldiers in the battlefied is a question you will answer at the end of the write up. Infact they don't want the insurgency to end. The Nigerian populace is not against the soldiers who go to war field without good or adequate weapons. The Nigerian populace is against those officers who cut marshall people to death sentence all in a bid to aviod future riots from soldiers. Lord Frederick we now what the soldiers are going tru. If only we can end corruption then the Nigerian Army will be free from what is happening to it.Then they will be able to defend themselves with enough weapons and mechanisms nd this will reduce the number of casualties. Frankly speaking, corruption needs to stop not just from the top hierachy, from all angles because it involves everybody not just the officers that seat in the offices.

They signed to fight and Defend their Country Recieving bullet and dying for the Nation is part of it but the fallen Soliders should be honoured and their families should be compensated.

You guys don't understand. Most of these Soliders are Northerns they are Sabo. Soliders don't speak well of Officers. I want everyone here who have a relative or friend in the Army who is a Solider or an Officer ask questions about Soliders and Officers. Those Soliders are so mean and Ruthless
The Officers are a lil bit fair. Am not a force person before they said I am one.

  13. Where are the bring back our girls campaigners, Ekwesili and every one. Soldiers are human beings too, a group should campaign for the Nigerian soldiers, they should be properly equipmed with sophisticated weaponry before asked to fight . Our infantry is old , stick with outdated weapons if I'm correct. I remember some years back my Dads younger brother who was a junior officer in the Army was asked to go to Liberia or some troubled country at that time. Soldiers were dieing like chickens not fair , not fair at all. My Uncle had to run to my Dad, my family was in mourning , his mother was inconsolable and warned my Dad that if he doesn't get my Uncle out of the list her death will be on him. Luckily my Dad made some calls and he didn't go . What about those soldiers who know no one? It's time we speak for this soldiers collectively, in a peaceful match at least to create awareness.

All they care about is mutiny....

I remember the south African Apartheid..my dad told us how they fought the whites with sticks and stones at first!! There was passion there...a lot of people lost their lives just fighting for freedom!! Children,Men,Women..gave their lives for the freedom they enjoy today.. Watching Mandela's a Walk To Freedom further shed light on how they were killed off like chickens!
Terrorism is one of the worse ills to befall a nation, one not so advanced too..i weep for our soldiers! I love my country,i wish corruption and evil men are not cashing in on this unstable state of affairs to further betray us!!! Adieu brave Soldiers! We shall win against this horror!

  27. Yes they signed for life nd death on the basis that the government wil provide the neccessary weapons and basic social amenities to help them do that. dis country is not just fair at all, sending soilders to fight and die without weapons. The millitary is highly corrupted at the echelon. The top officerd share d defence budget and do not even use it to buy d weapons meant for the field soilders. They are all murderers. The field, rank and file soilders are ready to defend nigeria with their lifes but wia are d weapons to do so and to add salt to injury they are starved and not taken care of. They can't handle boko haram boys yet they are busy killing and court marshalling those who are out in the field to lay their lives, dia only offence is dat they refused to fyt witout weapons, heaven and earth is watching nigerian elites and very soon judgement shall b passd!. Jonathan is a weak man and does not have the capacity to rule this country even if he stays in power fir twenty years!

You signed to protect the country if you are given the right tools. No one cares about their welfare. They are not fed, given drugs or any form of security. Why won't u adopt. Military creed says you give your life to the army but under the right circumstances.
Anyway, Nigeria has failed us consistently. Its almost like they are trying to sabotage the military for some reason.

Before u are even employed, all d dos and dont will b available to u, so therefore u acept at ur own risk.
The soldiers knows all this things before joining, law is not a respecter of anybody, if u are a soldier, u should knw u can die anytime, u were not forced to join, now they are complainin of no weapon, dnt they knw before? dnt they knw their is corruption in d army? dnt u read ur terms of service before u enroll? my brother bought recruitment form d oder time, cos he is jobless, whereas he is afraid of height, water etc, i have to sit him down and tell him wat army is all abt, cos i read war books.
He dumped d idea, those of his adamant friends who went ahead are now dead.
U cant b a banker and want to close 3pm, u cant b a sportman and use drugs, u cant b a soldier and b afraid to die.
Infact some of this soldiers harras bloody civilians on d street, that was y USA did not sell arms for us, mutiny in d army is death by firing squad, u obey insructions witout questns, all dem soldiers knw d rule, they should stop ranting.
My advice to everybody is, dnt start wat u cant finish, if u want to do anytin, think and ask for directions, dnt jst jump to sometin due to despiration.
