Labour room drama with an HEEDIOT sitting nearby!
My LRD story was about 10 years ago when I had my second daughter.
Throughout the pregnancy of this girl, it was one issue or the other. At a point, she was sitted very close to my spine so I almost went paralysed and the amniotic fluid was greatly increased. I actually looked like I was pregnant with twins.
After 42 weeks, this girl didn't even behave like she was ready to come. I was in so much distress coupled with the fact that I was in Uni and I had to go to school everyday.
After the 42nd week, I went to the hospital to get induced. I remember the doctor jokingly telling me that the baby was very relaxed and enjoying herself there and wasn't ready to come at all o. See me see trouble! On my way out of the hospital, a nurse called me aside and advised me to finish a big bucket of ice cream and take plenty of ice cubes then take a stroll of about an hour. She said the baby will immediately be uncomfortable. I didn't really consider the advice until about 12 midnight when I told my mum who encouraged me to try it.
Luckily I had a big bowl of ice cream at home. I took a stroll that mid night in my estate and went to bed.
At about 3:30 am that night, I woke up from a sharp pain. I woke my husband up but he didn't answer me. Then my water broke and I rushed to wake my mum. My mum had to plead with my husband to take me to the hospital which was just 2 minutes drive the house. He grudgingly took me there and left me to carry my baby box myself.

My mum had to plead with my husband to take me to the hospital which was just 2 minutes drive the house. He grudgingly took me there and left me to carry my baby box myself.
On arrival at the hospital, the nurses quickly took me to the labour room. Then arranged a lot of gadgets on me.
Then the labour pain came all at once. I just started shouting o. Everybody in the hospital knew there was a black woman about to give birth. My supposed darling "husband " was just calmly seated on the couch in the delivery suite sleeping. When I called out to him to hold me ...he said he couldn't hold me because he didn't want to be injured. He said he valued his skin.
Then I started hitting the gadgets around me and guess what he said...." please don't destroy the hospital's equipment o....if you do , you will get arrested and I will run away". The midwife had to ask who he was. Long story short....he told the midwife he was going back to bed. That we should call him when I give birth.
As he was stepping out, the midwife just shouted I can see her head....please push....in 2 pushes the beautiful baby was out at exactly 4:30 am. The labour took approximately an hour but was the most difficult hour of my life. Anyway...we broke up 7 months after the birth of that baby.
*Seven months was too long, you should have broken up immediately.....Your story was almost like a Chronicle....it just killed the labour room expectation.
Hope you are fine?
Ugh what an animal you had as a horseband! Onye nzuzu
ReplyDeleteMy dear thank God for you and your baby girl! It's well with you
Na wa oo. Having to beg the man to take you to the hospital. It is well.

ReplyDeleteMaybe her ex husband is oyibo cos no Nigerian guy can say that. And from her narrative she didn't birth that baby in naija so its possible her ex isn't a nigerian
DeleteThe way we dish out counsel... " hope you walked out of ur marriage " mm mm it takes 2 sides to maintain a quarrel, for a man to be so disinterested during labour points to the fact that it was a troubled Union... Poster was that his behavior during ur first pregnancy? BTW its not easy raising children alone in this vuhari times.. E-hugs
DeleteSilly man
ReplyDeleteCongrats sis.
ReplyDeleteYou waited for a whole 7 months? Husband from hell.
ReplyDeleteWhat an insensitive husband you had....
ReplyDeleteI wonder why your ex-husband behaved in such manner, na WA ooo.
ReplyDeleteThat one is not husband but 'horseband',,biko u tried,i wonder y some men will just knowingly b acting like a fool nd idiot (God forgive mi)
ReplyDeletebut God blessed u, just an hour, ive heard of 16hrs nd counting labor room experience..
Sorry to say, but your husband is a big bastard. What the hell? Did he ever love you??? I would have left him after the birth of that child... His child!!!!
ReplyDeleteGod! I'm so pained by this.
Anyway, congrats on your child... She'll give you unmeasurable joy.
'ex husband'
DeleteThat man is a serious case , better you left him ... no human feeling at all .
ReplyDeleteLike my son's father that told me not to disturb him, that he was at a friend's bday party when I was in labor.if not for my mum, maybe I would have died with the pregnancy.some Men are heartless
ReplyDeleteThank God you are okay now
DeleteLike my son's father that told me not to disturb him, that he was at a friend's bday party when I was in labor.if not for my mum, maybe I would have died with the pregnancy.some Men are heartless

ReplyDeleteWow some men eh.
ReplyDeleteHubby from oku muo
That your Bobo dey heartless sha. A nonchalant guy like that shouldn't have followed you to the hospital. Felt as if you forced him there. thank God for a safe delivery
ReplyDeleteAs in eh,no single love,aw can u carry ur baby box ursef?n ur mum had to even beg him to take his own wife to d hosp 2deliver? Omo I 4bite he ears, wat nonsense? Anyways I learnt somtn new,tot cold tinz makes babies very comfortable?nw amma take icecream a whole lot during my next preg.*shinesteeth n runs outta post.*
ReplyDeleteAh, don't o. Ur baby will become fat. And the delivery might not be easy. As for the poster, she took it to make labour come asap.
DeleteThe maaaan is a mad man
ReplyDeleteMad Man better pass the man sef, heartless devil.
DeleteYa husband is a boy! Very immature.
ReplyDeleteWhat a jerk of a man
ReplyDeleteSome men nahwah. How could he be dis cold, heartless and wicked? No matter d prior misunderstanding... Even if she was carrying someone else's child. Ladies, look very well before you leap. Don't do anything possible to become a Mrs, u might soon try to do all possible to be a Miss again. When d chips r down. God's time is always d best.
ReplyDeleteThat man is heartless.
ReplyDeleteIf it were a male child he would have helped. Your ex husband is a waste of space
ReplyDeleteYou sound silly,a bad man is a bad man irrespective of the gender of the child.
DeleteGet that wack mentality of boy boy out of your head. GOSH!!!
Are you sure the baby is for him?
ReplyDeleteOr did u cheat on him and he found out?
before we draw into conclusion, it will good to hear the Man's side...
For me, i dare to say it is rare to see a man behave like this except he isn't sure the baby is for him.
Even if she was carrying someone else's child. Part of being a normal human being is feeling empathy. She was in labor for pitts sake! And BTW I'm sure if d child wasn't his, that kind of man would have chased her away tey tey.
DeleteEeeeyah. Well done o. Clap for yourself na. The only reason according to you is she cheated. That thing that put the idea into your head didn't tell you it could be the man had a sidechick? Or that he's just a mean so and so? Again I say, well done. In fact, I repeat am, well done
DeleteHe is not romantic at all, and proves he didnt love you that much. Hope you didnt hook him with pregnancy, cos to me he sounds annoying. And you really tried 7 months.... it is well.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she did. This drama was during her second daughter's birth
DeleteThe most beautiful thing is the you had to break up with Him,typical nigerian woman will say :"where do i start from,he is the father of my children"...just remain strong. On the other hand its obvious you had issues before this time...you will also need to look inward..
ReplyDeleteGod forbid that kind horseband
ReplyDeleteI would have felt very disappointed if you had ended the story with "we are still waxing strong"
ReplyDeleteThank God you left
i am telling you
DeleteDat ur ex hubby is very stupid he can't even pretend to love @ dat crucial moment Oga ooooo.
