This is from a Blog Visitor who lost her Best friend in Yesterday's tragedy.....
She is looking for closure and asking questions.
Dear Stella,
I am mourning not because this is my first time of loosing someone close but because I see this whole thing as a setup.
Bishop Akan Weeks of reigners church still went on with his ordination at abak. (Attached is a picture)
As at when I left University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, over 100 persons were confirmed dead. Students inclusive. Not to talk of the number of persons at St. Luke hospital, Anua.
In total, it won't be wrong to say that over 200 people died due to incompetence/ neglect from the part of the engineers.
How is it possible for such a mighty structure to stand with no pillars to support the building?. The crane used simply gave way due to lack of support and secondly, there is a huge ravine at the back of the church which makes the soil texture very soft and it cracks often.
Stella the church is not a small church o. Church that contains more than a thousand seat. It was suppose to be an underground worship center.
My friend's mom has not been informed. She was one of the ushers at the event.I have been busy checking on friends and colleagues.
The city of Uyo mourns. #PrayforUyo
It so hurt. Rip to d lost souls
ReplyDeleteHe did what he felt was more important to him. Rip to the dead.
DeleteI wonder what is consuming our conscience as humans.
DeleteAbasi doo ufan
DeleteSung idem
The devil is a very bad devil
@Galore
God pls open our eyes
DeleteThis incidence is so devastating, I pray God gives the deceased families fortitude to bear the loss. But how can he continue with the ordination after what had happened *SMH*
ReplyDeleteSo sad may their souls rest in peace.
DeleteDid you mention still went on with the ordination?? Same yesterday? My goodness, I refuse to believe this. God knows best.
ReplyDeleteEven me too. I don't want to believe he went ahead with it. But if he did, he needs to be burnt or buried alive. I'm sure he'll come up with the BS excuse of going ahead with it because he didn't want the devil to feel he has won.
DeleteHeaven will really be full of surprises.
This was a carefully planned mass murder. I pray the people read between the lines as we mourn the souls of the departed.
DeleteAre you sure this pix was not taken before the collapse?
DeleteHmmm feel sad for her
ReplyDeleteWhat!!!hmmmm don't want to say anything about men of God but this is not right atall.
DeleteThis is sad
ReplyDeleteEnd time
May the souls of the departed rest in peace
Just saw some pictures on facebook! I'm still speechless
ReplyDeleteThis is so devastating. I can't believe they still went ahead with the ordination. Is ordination more important than the lives been lost? Still speechless. RIP to the dead.
DeleteGod forgive me but I don't understand all these tragedies in churches.
ReplyDeleteIs it that the pastors cannot see tragedies close to them or what?
And they still went on with the service?
It's well o.
Going ahead with ordination is so so wrong. People died, some are still dying and some may never remain the same again but the tittle bishop is all he cares about, its sad. Now he have the tittle but he should know this people will always remember as the bishop that many souls were killed at his ordination and some priest still ordained him without fear or feelings for those in the mortuary and emergency unit and hospitals still looking for blood donors.
DeleteMy dear it is not an ordination... Actually it is. It is an ordination into the kingdom of darkness and the souls lost was the sacrifice.
DeleteMay God give us all wisdom.
U said it all I hardly go to church dis days
DeleteEya,, its so sad..
ReplyDeleteThank God for my friend whose life was spared. Only God knows what would have happened if the pumping machine was working. Thanks to God it developed fault and she had no water to bath.
DeleteGod is forever faithful.
Rip to the death ,may God preserve us all. Amen.
Jeez! He still went on with the ordination after what happened? I won't be surprise if he use those people for sacrifice
ReplyDeleteIt's blood sacrifice
DeleteHmmmmm, this is too much. May the Lord grant those that lost their dear ones, fortitude to bear the lost.
ReplyDeleteFortitude to bear the loss
DeleteSo sad .RIP to the dead

ReplyDeleteHope he doesn't have a hand it.
Even thought it was a minor issue until I started seeing pictures.
Govt should look into it and take proper action.
What?!
ReplyDeleteSo they Still went ahead

This is really sad. I heard a fellow linguist by name peace udoh lost her life.
ReplyDeleteDear peace, we the linguistics association of Nigeria mourn Ur demise. We pray DAT almighty God grant ur soul n others eternal rest amen.
Adieu linguist.
May God comfort the families left behind by the victims. This is so heartbreaking. #GodremainsGod
ReplyDeleteI cried when i saw this news today... So many lives lost...
ReplyDeleteThe ordination was done in abak before moving down to uyo before the sad incident occur and according to news report minute ago pastor is currently in the hospital has a result of shock.
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarification o jare. How can he do that when he is not a devil.
Deleteyou are welcome
DeleteTHANK YOU!!!!
DeletePeople just spew out nonsense!! How can he continue? I have seen a post-incident picture of the pastor. He most definitely did NOT continue with the ordination.
Lord have mercy
ReplyDeleteAbeg, where was the bishop when thr building collapsed
ReplyDeleteMy dear, I follow you de ask
DeleteMay her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen
ReplyDeleteMay the souls of the departed rest in peace. And may God give their loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss. Chai.
ReplyDeleteBut is the building new? I mean is a new church? Has the structure not been there? There's more to it than meets the eye. What a colossal loss. And bishop wasn't buried in d debris.
It's really insensitive for the Bishop to still go on with his ordination with scires of people dead and many more in the hospital.I saw the pictures yesterday,it was really graphic.May God grant you all comfort.....Amen
ReplyDeleteRitual, ritual, ritual. Wake up people, open your eyes.
ReplyDeleteI do not doubt the fact that some church owners are ritualists but this is a case of human errors. The building was rushed. Those roof and other metals were installed about three days to the ordination. That morning work was still ongoing. The pressure ofrom the large audience and the sound system that was blaring that morning shook the entire place to the ground. There was not enough pillars for the structure. Will send Stella images of the building few days before the tragedy.
DeleteBy the way, the picture above is a picture taken during the Saturday morning service in uyo. I have the video.
There are rumors that the bishopic installation continued after the tragedy. Will send stella the full gist.
This reminds me of what we read on ODM devotional on Saturday morning: the topic was: it was human error... And we were asked to pray that the mistake of others do not affect our destiny.
May the souls of the departed RIP.
Its only God dt will judge dt pastor,Tnk God 4 saving d Govnor & may d soul of his aid dt saved his life by pushing him out thereby dying 4 him RIP.Wot a tragidy
ReplyDeleteWhy thanking God for saving the Governor? What of those that lost their lives??? Is the governor's head two???
DeleteIts only God dt will judge dt pastor,Tnk God 4 saving d Govnor & may d soul of his aid dt saved his life by pushing him out thereby dying 4 him RIP.Wot a tragidy
ReplyDeleteThis is pure proof that the said pastor isn't a man of God. The Bible said no evil shall befall us. Come to think of it, millons attended Shiloh, went back home without recording and death. Redeemed Christian Church of God did their Camp/ convention, no soul was lost. The pastor thinks he can answer bishop. Does he carry the anointing Paapa Bishop David Oyedepo carrys????????? My dear accept my sincere condolence over the death of your friend. But this is a pure disgrace. Look at how many souls lost. God disgraced him on the day who taught he would be celebrated. People, not all miracle is Miracle o. Take heart.
ReplyDeleteYou are a fool for saying this, August after redeem convention unilorin std lost there lives, about 4 to 5. So don't come here saying rubbish, only God knows the fact. RIP to the dead
DeleteLet us all think b4 writing,
DeleteStella no eat / chop my comment the first 1 especially
U don't v sense spicy April,go and spice up it brain.
DeleteYour 'Paapa Bishop David Oyedepo' carries great anointing- for laying curses when his errors are pointed out. Well done o
DeleteI don't have time for drama. But let me state here that am entitled to my views and opinions. I don't talk to faceless people. Anonymous the curses he placed are for people like you who seek every opportunity to look for who to insult. Watch you tongue and tune with me before i place my own curse you you to. #Paapa Bishop David Oyedepo# may your life continue to be as sweet as milk and honey# keep impacting souls. @Broomstick may the souls of those you said died last year rest in peace amen. Paapa Adegboye#Redeemed Christian church of God, May the wisdom of God never run dry in your life amen.
DeleteSpiceless April receive sense in JESUS name. It's people like you who worship MOG's instead of worshipping God. Read the rubbish you just wrote. You should have just said RIP and move on. You are extremely daft.
DeleteAnon 15:10, I just got back from camp this morning. Do you know how many people attended the congress? Millions of people did and there was no stampede. People died on their way and you are attaching their death to the church? They didn't die inside the church biko.
DeleteThis bishop or whatever should go and check who called him again.
Na WA oo. Be say u de carry anus think?
DeleteRip to the dead. The man would now say that the work of God must continue no matter what. God knows everything under the sun.
ReplyDeleteToo many Occultic men parading themselves as pastors, bishops, evangelists nowadays ..strange things are happening. Believers need to wake up and use their God giving brains to discern real from fake.
ReplyDeleteThe man used their blood , you will now see how the congregation will grow like bees on honey .Godless man
DeleteQuite sad....
ReplyDeleteOmg, I'm sure this is BV Bluntchic or so. May your friend's soul RIP. The families should come together and sue. The so called bishop is a very heartless fellow. This one is as bad as TB Joshua's case(i wonder why that one still walks freely). It is well.
ReplyDeleteAnd One of the governor’s aides, Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr Ukpong, who moderated the event at the church service, thanked God for saving his life".
ReplyDeleteImaging how stupid and mentally retarded a sane grown up man can reason and talk?
If it was God that saved your life, who collapsed the Church in the first place?
For whom did all the whorshipers gathered in the collapsed Building and why did God allow others to die while he speared sb like, Aniekeme finbarr Ukpong?
Or are the survivors trying to tell the world that it was God that collapsed the Building?
After making a wide rang researches and interrogation, I arrived to the conclusion the most Nigerians are not just naturally stupid but have for long being retarded by these two Arabians religions called Christianity and Islam.
Thunder fire all you religious nuisants and Vermins

ReplyDeleteOMG!God give the all the families who lost their loved ones the heart to bear this great loss. Amen.
Did you know all these before or after the event? It's so insensitive of the church to have continued with the programme. Ejo lowo ninu
ReplyDeleteI see apostle Zilly Aggery.
ReplyDeleteA structure without pillar? Is it possible? Winners Chapel Ota is a case study. It's quiet possible.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad.
ReplyDeletesee all the big bellied fake Pastors with their funny looking peak-caps....so inspire of such a mighty disaster, they still went ahead with the Ordination?? WOW
ReplyDeleteThis is really sad, RIP to your friend and all those who lost their lost their lives in this unfortunate incidence. Nawa oh first TB's church now this. All these engineers make una fear God nah
ReplyDeleteHuman sacrifice things. I'm not surprised after they caught that man of God dt used humans to lay foundations for his church. God forgive me if I'm wrong but too many things happening around pastors these days.
ReplyDeleteGbam. Ritual pastor
DeleteMy heart goes out to all the families in uyo that lost some yesterday,my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
ReplyDelete@FREEMAN
May their soul rest in the bossom of the Lord....... This is really sad..... God would give them the strength to bear the loss....
ReplyDeleteOK seen..
ReplyDeleteThis was almost my fate yday. Lagos Nysc orientation camp, we were under a tent for the Mr Macho and Miss Nysc competition, it started raining, the wind was much, I had my fears, I slightly moved to D edge of the tent. Didn't hear this story before it happened, heard about it later.
ReplyDeleteAs the event went on, the wind was too much for the tent to carry, that's how it started moving, the poles inside started pulling off. Thank God there was no casualty. The tent was slanted. I ran for my life ehn! As I ran, I held on to my cap and tag. Lol.
So how is it a setup?. Who set who up?
ReplyDeleteSo,so sad.
ReplyDeleteGod ,with all the sad things this year,Buhari becoming pres, the recession, now this?? And this close to Xmas, this is really sad, been seeing a lot of people that lost their lives, beautiful people, God knows best..RIP to the dead, may God grant the family fortitude to bear their losses, amen..
ReplyDeleteHmmmmn. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. Amen.
ReplyDeleteMay the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace .
ReplyDeleteFather console their families..
Exactly,i really agree to you, fake pastors everywhere
ReplyDeletelike I said earlier, it can happen anywhere, residential building, church building etc. Engineers and work men like cutting corners, let's not attribute everything to ritual.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you.
DeleteThe contractors did a bad job. And to think they were still working on that same day of the event.
Ritual my ass
Its only in Nigeria that tragedy like this will happen & the reason 4 the gathering will not & never be postponed.
ReplyDeleteMay God forgive them their sins & receive their souls into his Kingdom
Rest in Peace to the death
This story is false that picture was taken before the tragedy.
ReplyDeleteChurches Na waooo

ReplyDeleteUYO COLLAPSED CHURCH: THE ENTHRONEMENT DIDN'T HOLD AS SPECULATED
ReplyDeleteSaturday, December 10, 2016 may have left a hurting scar on our psyches as State, Christian community and in particular, for members of the Reigners Bible Church, Uyo.
On the said day, while the church, family, associates and well wishers were gathered at the sprawling auditorium of the church, for the Bishopric enthronement of their Prelate, Apostle Dr Akan weeks, the structure caved in and unfortunately, left a trail of casualties.
Folks', I have a few observations to make.
First, let me commend all those who made haste, to ensure, rescue efforts commenced with urgency, beginning with His Excellency, Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, who used his good office to mobilize and coordinate the emergency rescue operations; which helped save a lot of lives and reduce the casualty figures considerably.
I also acknowledge with commendatory honour, all the people, security agencies, organizations, and medical personnel, who made tremendous input and sacrifice as volunteers to ensure the disaster response operations were swift, professional, and efficient. That community spirit, again, reinforced our common humanity and the obligation to be our
Brothers keeper as a clarion call, to bear one another's burden.
A very special thanks to those who donated blood, material and cash, to further facilitate several levels of the operation and first aid modalities in a quest to save lives. It is a given that, God Almighty will reward all your exertions.
However, THERE IS THIS CRITICAL ANGLE THAT WE HAVE TO ADDRESS AND LAY TO REST. THESE ARE THOSE WHO ARE STOKING THE FIRE OF BLAME, DENUNCIATION, REPROACH AND FAULT FINDING, WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE ALL THE FACTS.
First, rumours are spreading that, the slated Enthronement still went ahead at an unnamed location, inspite of the mishap at the venue. THIS LINE IS UNFOUNDED, FALSE, MISLEADING AND VERY UNKIND TO THE LEADERSHIP OF REIGNERS BIBLE CHURCH AND DR AKAN WEEKS.
As we speak, DR WEEKS, WHO HAS ALSO LOST RELATIVES IN THE MISFORTUNE, IS UNDER ORTHOPEDIC TREATMENT AND PHYSIO-THERAPY, AND AT NO TIME/VENUE, DID THE PURPORTED ENTHRONEMENT CONTINUE. BE ALERT THAT, THOSE WHO NEVER WISHED AKAN WEEKS WELL, WILL POUNCE ON THIS CRISES IN ATTEMPT TO DESTROY HIM. GOD FORBID!
Whoever originated this false alarm is not helping the healing process and solemnity the occasion demands, and those propagating it, without getting the facts right, are 'innocently', being manipulated to stir strife. We should please, in deference to the dead, and solidarity with the Body of christ, halt this wicked rumour.
My investigation of this matter further reveals that, the Reigners Bible Church has set up about 15 prayer units with leaders, to visit, about 15 different hospitals where the wounded are admitted and recuperating, to pray with, and counsel victims and their relatives. They are not resting on their oars, neither are their spirits dampened or defeated by this debacle. The best we can do is, intercede for/with them, and help in bridging any lapses, this denomination may be undergoing in this their troubled times.
The Church(Reigners), is also sending relief materials and medicine to victims, complementing the Udom Emmanuel led State Government which has graciously bankrolled the treatment of all concerned. We do well, if we support these efforts with words of healing and encouragement, not statements or comments that incite wrath and opprobium.
AS USUAL, ALL MANNER OF TALES, HEARSAYS AND INFORMAL GOSSIPS, ATTEMPTING TO EXPLAIN THE WHY'S, WHAT'S AND HOW'S OF THIS CATASTROPHE ARE FLOATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND NON FORMAL CIRCLES. Some have even gone as far as name-calling, making weighty speculations and ancecdotes on the matter.
The less gracious have viciously attacked the integrity of chief Celebrator, Dr Akan Weeks, and mocked the Church for this severe blow.
Der is more to dis than meet d eyes! May God save us frm des new generation churches. Eternal rest b granted to d departed souls, amen.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad💔
