wearing a white kaftan and not Customs uniform as ordered by the Senate.
Ali had been summoned by the Senate for questioning on the controversial vehicle duty now susupended by Customs.
On arrival, Ali met with the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.
He was accompanied to Ekweremadu’s office by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.
After about five minutes in Ekweremadu’s office, he left for Enang’s office.
Ekweremadu is presiding at the plenary, which is now in closed-door session.

*This man is VERY STUBBORN.....I dont understand, why does he not want to wear his Uniform?
Lawyers please explain if this has anything to do with the law or constitution.
He's just an albino feeling funky
ReplyDeleteHe is a rtd soldier that feels he can't wear uniform i blame the useless government that placed him there they left the young vibrant people and decided that this old man will listen to them. Now na morning for all of them mtchewww
DeleteHe is just making his matter worse. Obedience is better than sacrifice in any case. Just obey oga boss
ReplyDeletePlease people is it controller or comptroller? I don't understand this two words
DeleteIt is Comptroller
DeleteVery stubborn man.
ReplyDeleteThis man shaii stubborn oh, haba, Buharr's cabal empowered these guys not to recognise and respect the power of the legislative arm of the government, gush
ReplyDeleteYou know how namas behave, that is what this one is exhibiting. Nama style
ReplyDelete😂😂😂😂😂
DeleteHow does wearing the Customs uniform translate to him doing a good job or not? I think we often focus on the inconsequential. He was appointed to do a job so National Assembly should be more concerned about him meeting his target or not and whether he is breaking any law in his bid to meet his target. I believe the National Assembly is just trying to sensationalize (if that word no dey abeg I don form am) the issue and crucify the man before the public.
ReplyDeleteThe man gaan sef no try. If you want to enforce a policy first sensitize people for about 6 months and make it apply to does who bring in cars after the sensitization period. Nuff said anyways.
Kindly state one good job he has done? Other than the extortion he was trying to enforce.
DeleteI think his Portfolio Title should be changed from Comptroller General to Sole Administrator, with that he can Administer a Paramilitary Outfit such as Customs,as the EFCC has a chairman who is also a Police Officer, but he doesn't have to wear a Police uniform to work, the term Comptroller can only be used for a Custom's Officer who rose through the ranks and not for a designated Political Appointee
DeleteThey should work him out!Nonsense.
ReplyDeleteHe's a rtd soldier. They're generally stubborn and don't take orders from civilians.
ReplyDeleteHe who the gods want to kill, they will first make mad. You can't wear custom uniform but you can enjoy custom money shey? No wahala. Stubborn man.
ReplyDeleteAsking a retired Colonel to appear in customs' uniform is an insult. Is it his uniform that's doing the work?
ReplyDeleteYour comment does not make sense.
DeleteWas he better than Gen. Hannaniya who wore FRSC uniform all through his tenure?
DeleteIt makes a very big sense.
DeleteVery stubborn somebody, i dont blame him the was elected by the president what do you expect, he feels he has power and cannot be touched, because i dont understand why he does not want to lead by example.
ReplyDeleteVery stubborn man. Just to dress appropriately, and he's forming James Bond.. mtchewwww
ReplyDeleteIron burn d uniform as e wan press am for night.
ReplyDeleteOnce a soldier always a soldier.what do you expect from a retired colonel?
ReplyDeletetoh lets see how the drama unfolds.
*hangs leg on the ceiling*
Wat dirty lousy colonel?is he bigger dan Gen hanniniya?didnt d general wear FRSC uniform? Wat impudence! Wat arrant nonsense! He can't wear customs uniform beht he can collect d allowances and salaries of customs bah? His crazy!
DeleteA clear case of "oya come and beat me nau"
ReplyDeleteNawa oh
ReplyDeleteHonestly this guy is stubborn. Why are they wasting time with him sef.
ReplyDeleteU mean this same man cannot wear Customs uniform but can collect customs salary
ReplyDeleteAs in...I just tire. Let him resign already

ReplyDeleteLol Mr Rebel!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder they wanted Buhari back badly, they r dealing with all his Men.... Good men o
ReplyDeleteAli Ali okunrin meta, afinju soldier ti oun fi Ibon se decoration. Tell dem now, that agbada/babanriga with costumes=customs uniform
ReplyDeleteNa wah o!
ReplyDeleteListened to a former NBA Chief and he said Alli should go there in his customs uniform. That's what the Law stipulates.
Just don't know why He doesn't want to wear his Customs uniform? Making a big deal out of this.
STUBBORN is understatement. This man has a rebellious spirit. Same Nigeria customs that foots his bill, he feels too big to wear their uniform. Even if he used to be a millitary man, that is now in the past. Well it is Buhari who put an Ex millitary person as custom's boss i blame for all thos brouhaha.
ReplyDeleteNa military rule fit dis our country....I swear down!
ReplyDeleteStubborn pple everywhere!!
Just Negodu!
Handsome...my spec. 4th wife loading 😜
ReplyDeleteYour spec? We do have weird tastes and funny fantasies on this blog.
DeleteAnd you dont mind being wife number 4? 😸😹😹
The man is kinda stubborn, he should be replaced.
ReplyDeleteMadam Stella, cuculus non facit Mona cum, meaning, a hood does not make a monk.
ReplyDeleteThe man is doing well as he is repositioning customs .The issue of him wearing uniform has nothing to do with any law . Rather the Senate wants to flex muscle as it is going in Magu's case.
so says El Hajj. you will now blind your eyes to his fault. I understand.
DeleteAs a retired army officer he will find it condescending to wear a paramilitary uniform, why do I know this, I have military background and they (army officers) tend to look down on the paramilitary.
ReplyDeleteBeht general hannaniya wore FRSC uniform wen he was d DG!a rtd General o! Not a col o
DeletePls can someone explain the payment of duty on old cars, the policy he recently reversed. Didn't follow the story...
ReplyDeleteI do not blame him at all. He is a retired army officer not a customs officer, he was never in the customs service in the first place and he never served there. He was only planted there by the President, why do they want him to wear the uniform of a service he is not part of.
ReplyDeleteThen he is not qualified to be a custom boss.
DeleteThere is no stubbornness there, the man is a political appointee and not a carrier custom officer,he is not obliged to wear a uniform.our Senators are jobless empty heads
ReplyDeleteMalaria de worry me, na Dem sabi
ReplyDeleteIt is an Offence not to dress in the Uniform as stipulated by the Customs and Excise Duties Regulation 1963. Those who say the Uniform doesnt make him a better worker or whatever with regards to his duties, you all are stupid. A service that has uniform, whether you like it or not, you must wear your uniform in it or resign. Imagine Police IG or COAS not wearing Uniform because they where appointed by the president.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! He needs to be taken down asap! There are other military personnels that were appointed as CG before him yet they went to the office with their uniforms. I am certain this issue came up and the president was aware of the consequence of his actions yet he appointed him(both having military background). What can he tell his officers who look up to the CG and wear mufti to work as well? Punish them? Laws are laid down rules, with consequences when broken. That man needs to step aside asap and let his deputy take over while he chooses between conforming or resignation!
DeleteNigerians should not allow one man get away with absurdity! This is in itself corruption, just to enrich his own ego!

ReplyDeletein the law or not, he is in custom so he is supposed to wear his uniform
ReplyDeleteThose of you who voted for change na him be this.
ReplyDeleteVery stubborn man, is not is fault
ReplyDeleteGo to court without your lawyer's regalia and see if the judge will listen to you. These Hausas think they own Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteif there is no law mandating him to wear the uniform, I see the Senate's insistence as being childish.
ReplyDeleteGbam! They just want to show the man pepper but them no know say them don jam retired army officer.Mark my words,he will NEVER wear that customs uniform. He would rather resign.
