UK Issues Travel Warning For Nigeria

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has issued a heightened travel advisory for Nigeria, citing rising insecurity, kidnappings, and violent crime across multiple regions.
 British nationals are urged to avoid travel to several states and exercise extreme caution nationwide.




The UK advises against all travel to Borno, Yobe ,Adamawa, Gombe, Katsina and Zamfara states due to high risks from terrorism, insurgency, and criminal violence.
These states are flagged for Boko Haram and ISWAP activity, Kidnappings near transport hubs, religious sites, and humanitarian operations

An additional 18 states are marked for essential travel only, with risks including:
Armed robbery. Banditry ,Communal clashes and targeted attacks on civilians and aid workers.
The advisory emphasizes that insecurity is increasing across all regions, and not just the North.
