Pinky's CORNER

I was on my way to Akure last week and realized the other road had been blocked due to repair.

So, all vehicles had to ply same lane to and fro(from ilesa). You can imagine the kind of traffic one will experience. Just like the present traffic along ijebu ode road.

The bus I was in, was behind a cab star that was fully loaded with 9" inches block and there were two guys sitting on the block behind the driver's side. The cab star was also behind an executive car.

There was the small girl hawking bottled water in the traffic and mistakenly two bottled water fell off from her bowl and rolled under the tyre of the executive car and the tyre smashed them both. The man stopped, rolled down and saw it was the girl's bottled water that rolled under his tyre. I expected him to give the girl something (500,1000 or more, as little girl wey she be). The guy just rolled up and didnt bother about the girl.

One of the guy sitting on the block called the girl and gave her 1k, I also called the girl and gave her 1k ,including our driver. Making 3k. But I was so pissed off by the guy's attitude for ignoring the girl. Not even minding that, the girl is only trying to meet up with daily food. What she sells has no much gain because they only give them commission for whatever they sell. I was so pained that, it became a topic of discussion in the bus I was in.

Kindness can't be learned. It's an inborn trait and you can't force it on anyone. I believe, we need to do better. Though, he wasn't at fault but he should understand that, the two bottled water was a loss to the little girl.
It is well.
Do good, no matter what.

Abeg your own too much sef. if its me i wont give the little girl a dime...It might even be her trick sef...The next car that will come she will drop another two bottles and wait to be gifted money again...Everything na format for Naija.....Na you call am small girl, if you look well, she fit be midget.

  2. Pinky, it’s actually wrong of you to have an expectation over someone else’s money. Every human being has the aspect of life they display kindness to, the fact that it’s different from yours doesn’t make the other person unkind.
What if he hates child labour or street trading?
What if he doesn’t ever travel with cash?
Even the God that created us doesn’t show mercy to everyone because he clearly stated that He will show mercy to whom He will show mercy to…same as compassion.
    Stop being judgmental!!!

He didn’t cause her bottle to fall
If you want to help her that’s fine, but don’t be mad at him

  4. Good of you and others to help, but condemning the other man for not giving is not right, it could have been for many reasons known to him, you never can tell his experience.

  6. It's good to be good and show kindness within your capabilities but not everyone are wired same way.

Anyway Pinky appears to be a very empathetic person
He feels other people’s pain, he is simply a good person
That is why he gets bothered over other people’s problems
