Testifying at the trial of former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, EFCC investigator Chinedu Eneanya said five CBN officials moved the money using forged documents and that forensic analysis confirmed the signatures of Buhari and Mustapha were fake. He added that although Emefiele claimed his own signature was also forged, no forensic test was conducted on it.
Eneanya said five CBN staff who signed the internal memo authorising the release were only suspended, not charged. During cross‑examination, he admitted no investigator confirmed that Emefiele personally received any money.
The defence accused the EFCC of delaying the case by repeatedly bringing similar witnesses and asked the court to close the prosecution’s case if it fails to produce its remaining two witnesses by April 28, 2026 Justice Hamza Muazu adjourned the matter to that date for continuation of trial.

Emefiele na scape goat cos his signature may have also bn forged during that reckless regime....ehm..and this one too.
