Nigeria and Germany Sign €365m Development & Investment Partnership

Nigeria and Germany have entered a renewed cooperation agreement covering energy, agriculture, digital reforms, skills development, and private‑sector growth. The deal includes €65 million in new financial and technical support and a proposed €300 million export credit guarantee framework designed to attract investment and fund long‑term infrastructure and development projects.

Both countries finalized the agreement in Abuja, reaffirming their long‑standing partnership and aligning the cooperation with Nigeria’s national development priorities, including economic reforms, energy transition, agricultural transformation, and digital governance.

German institutions such as Siemens and SAP participated in the engagements, highlighting ongoing work in power infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital systems modernization. Germany also expressed interest in supporting large‑scale skills programmes that could train up to one million Nigerians in technical and vocational fields.
