Couples In Beijing Apply For Right To Birth Second Child..wow!

The Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning said on Tuesday
that more than 30,000 Beijing couples have applied to have second child since the capital eased its one-child policy in February 2014.

Zhong Dongbo, the Deputy Head of the Commission, said in Beijing that out of the 30,305 applicants, 28,778 had been approved.

He said the number was, however, lower than the 50,000 expected, adding that “many couples who wanted to have second child chose not to have them this year, but this does not mean that they won’t have them in future.

“Maybe they’re just not ready, maybe it is due to economic cost or time cost or they are contented with one child.”

Dongbo said Beijing was prepared for an increase of 50,000 births every year.

He said an extra 1,000 beds would be arranged in Beijing hospitals within three years. -  pmnewsnigeria

Hmmm na wah

    2. This one na serious population control .

How can they try to control something as natural as procreation? But I'm not surprised, it's China!.....aren't they the ones that eat newborns as a cuisine, go figure.

  2. oH steLLa Ukwu Sugar.. If one mistakenly gets PreGGers for a 2nd Child. The Child Gets aborted and the mild Fat (collagen) in the baby is transfered to Vaseline/Body Cream Factory. Collagen is an essential constituent of Dencia's Whitenicious/ other expensive bleaching cream. If u doubt me. Google is ur Boo.

China does the most disgusting act of the 21st century. I am not surprised..

    1. Be informed! Collagen is not 'mild fat' it's a protein that is responsible for regenerating worn out tissues that is why it is good for wrinkles and ageing skin.

  8. Stella, I have a Chinese friend with 2 kids.

She once told me you can have more than one kid but you pay a heavy fine. And you forego government's miserly benefits for the second child.

    1. True. I have a friend from Guangzhou who's the first child of her parents.

She once told me about a childhood memory of the government officials taking away her dad's motorbike when her younger sister was born because he did not have money to pay the fine and how she and her mom cried inconsolably. She was about 7 then.

The story made us laugh at the time but I just saw it now through the eyes of citizens of the country. It was an extreme measure but apt because the population explosion was getting uncontrollable.

Someone who make less than 30K in a month yet has 5 kids. Someone who lives in a room face me I slap you yet has 5kids. No good food, dirty clothing(hand me down mostly) no proper education, if a child fall sick, they will be looking for herbal remedies.

They are making auxillary nurses rich cos they can't afford to go to a hospital YET they keep popping out kids every year.

  30. Na wah!
    See talk oh.
But does anyone, government included have the right to tell legally married couples the number of children they should bear?
When did we get here bikonu?
    I think this is intimidation.

So far as a couple can take care of their offsprings financially and otherwise, they can birth as much as they can.
It should only be a crime when couples bring many kids into the world to suffer for no reason.

I understand they want to control population and all that, but I also know this world has enough space for us all biko.
Thank God I don't live in such countries anyway.
I must have my 4 kids oh.
Warming up for the next one sef...
    Odiegwu!

    2. The world has enough space for everyone? U mean earth where over 70% is covered by water? Or u will live in space?
Globalisation comes wit a lot of stress on the already large world population, the air we breathe is not even very clean anymore because of industrialization. Food production is not enough to feed as there is now a geometric progression in population size eg 2,4,16, 256, instead of arithmetic progression 2,4,6,8,10.
      Stop being sentimental.
Why stop at 4? Try 5.

Natural resources cannot support populations anymore. Potable water aquifers are seriously depleted, pollution is the order of the day and you think the world has enough space for all? SMH

Please, don't take this as an insult because I really do admire you. Just try to be a bit more informed about issues world over, okay. Split your SDK blog reading time into two and devote some part into getting more informed about the world you live in.

      LOL!

Food production is not enough to feed people right?
Wow! Yet someone I know greedily eats up to 10 people's portion all by herself after which she explodes and rolls around the whole place.
And she has the nerve to preach...
      Hypocrisy at it's peak!

Other children beyond the 4 are not entitled to government benefits. Infact there's no space to register them sef when filling or updating your employment form abi wetin dem dey call am.

  44. The bible says we should multiply but God gave Abraham only 1 legit son..Our God is not an irresponsible Father.
Jacob had 13 kids bcos of the mischief of his father in law and wives he was saddled with.the woman he truly desired has only 2 (Joseph and Benjamin)..
God gives all children but he gives you enough resources to train the ones He destined for you and your family. If He gave you resources to cater 2 kids and you go and birth 7,then instead of you having 2 kids and giving them the best you can afford, you suffer and struggle to 7 on the resources of 2.then you put unnecessary pressure on the older ones who won't be able to focus on their lives because they have to carry your burden for you first instead of starting their own lives.
Pls,young couples, ask Him before commencing child rearing ,"Father,How many Kids is your will for me".His will is perfect.
    Shalom.
    forgive my typos.

  45. Oh God,please give us a president that will enact this kind of law.in our own case, four is okay.let me see if bokoharam will recruit animals as bombers. Is it not because of not having this kind of law that the northerners mostly reproduce like fowl.one man with 36 children.
