House Applauds Nigerian Harold Ekeh Accepted To Eight Ivy League Schools

The House Committee on Diaspora heartily congratulates, Harold Ekeh , the 17 year old Nigerian who got admitted into 8 Ivy League schools in the USA at the same time.

Describing this as a “remarkable achievement”, the Chairman, Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa, noted that, it is always a thing of joy to learn of success stories of
Nigerians in Diaspora, adding that millions of Nigerians are excelling in various fields abroad.
Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa stressed that Nigeria’s greatest assets are her human resources. “I am proud of Ekeh’s accomplishments and it is high time Nigeria tapped into the enormous talents and successes of Nigerians in Diaspora for national development”.

On his final choice of school, Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa wished  him all the best as he decides on which among the eight ivy league schools he will be choosing to fulfil his dream of becoming a doctor.

Ekeh, a 17 year old Nigerian was accepted by 8 ivy schools in the USA, among which are MIT, NYU and John Hopkins University.

He is the founder of a mentoring program in his school, Elmont Memorial High School on Long Island in the New York City suburbs. Using the mentoring program, his goal is to get more students into top universities. Ekeh hopes to major in Neurobiology or Chemistry in College and later become a Doctor and, ultimately, a Neurosurgeon.

  3. Nigeria kills academic dreams of kids.
    I was a child prodigy
    Very very cerebral
Which exam did i not take and pass?
I was always commended and that was all.
I remember when i won a state wide Essay competition.
    What came out of it?.
I am still waiting for the cash prize decades after.

Anyways,i'm a bit glad i didnt go neck deep into the academic world.
Who knows,i may have become a square-mouthed -koikoi-shoe-wearing and completely white haired Prof.Or a confirmed Aunty Gwegz who because of overflowing conji tears a students answer sheets 10 minutes to the end of a 3hr examination.
Or i would have gone crazy because my thoughts are almost always far ahead and scandalous.

    Thank God i am here.
Grounded, crazy, enjoying this "bnog" with all of you.

SDK,pls dont sterilize this blog too much.
If i want a drama-free place on the blogosphere,i will port to FGCMF website

  8. Stella Korks, he was admitted into the 8 Ivy league schools and the others you listed up there. The schools you listed up there are not Ivy league schools. Ivy league school includes Harvard, Yale, Brown, Cornell etc...The 3 you listed up there are prestigious too, but they're not Ivy league.
Congratulations to Harold Ekeh on his brilliant feat!
