Police Inspector Stabbed To Death By Wife In Akure

A 26-year-old housewife, Wunmi Omowa in Akure, the Ondo state capital has reportedly stabbed her Police inspector  husband Isreal to death over a minor squabble.

This came at a time a police corporal in Ogun State,  whose identity was not disclosed by the state police command, reportedly shot dead a commercial driver,   identified as Likinyo Olumide, at Sagamu toll gate along Lagos-Bennin expressway.
However, report had it that after wife of the slain policeman reportedly stabbed her husband in the neck with a knife, she rushed him to the hospital where he later died.

Vanguard gathered that the couple have been married for three years and reside at Olowolagba area along Akure- Owo express road.

Vanguard was informed that the deceased was in his  early 30s and the cause of the minor squabble could not be ascertained at the time of going to press.
It was gathered that the deceased, who was attached to the state security outfit, code named “Fast Strike Squad“ entered into a shouting match with the  wife on the ill-fated day.
The shouting match reportedly degenerated into the use of foul language and subsequently a physical fight.
Eyewitness account said the suspect rushed into the kitchen in the height of the argument only to return with a knife with which she stabbed her husband in the neck.
Report had it that immediately the havoc was committed, the wife came back to her senses and rushed out of the house to inform their neighbours of what she had done to her husband.
By the time the neighbours would come to his rescue, the deceased had reportedly lost so much blood and was gasping for breath.
It was learned that all efforts to save the life of the Inspector were not successful as he reportedly gave up the ghost after he was rushed to a nearby private hospital.

Vanguard gathered that detectives were invited and the suspect was arrested and detained at the Ijapo Police Station where she was interrogated and detained.
Spokesman of the state police command, Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident when contacted for comment, saying the deceased died as a result of blood loss resulting from the deep cut sustained during the fight with his wife.
According to him, the deceased was attached to the Mopol 17 of the Mobile Police Force in Akure and was a member of the Fast Strike Squad on routine patrol in the state.

Joseph pointed out that the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID, had commenced investigation into the cause of the death of the police officer.
He assured that Police detectives would soon unravel the cause of the squabble and bring the culprit to book

The Police spokesman said that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the state Specialist Hospital in Akure.

Hmmm this kind of anger is horrible...please if you ever find yourself in a verbal or physical altercation, walk away before you become Newspaper headline.

    1. When you hear "detectives" you'd immediately think of smart, sharp officers with their clothes freshly starched & pressed; and guns tucked in their holsters. Meanwhile, no be so for Naija. Lol

  2. Trust them to make a case off d poor woman.
Yes she killed her husband bt who knows? It might have been hers.
They got in2 a fight and maybe she felt threatened and as such acted in self defence.
All those *innocent and unarmed* that have been killed by trigger happy cops, how many of them have been charged?
And yet they wana make a case outa d lady.
If it was d other way round, wouldnt they have said it was an accidental discharge or probably swept d news under d carpet.
Yes a murder has been committed bt without getting to d crux of what happened dt night, i 4one feel they should be lenient in her judgement ent.
No matter d rage,no one in his or her right senses would kill some1 except a cold blooded killer.
@most,Coupla years jail sentence should bt they shouldn't just let her rot away in jail

    1. Abeg no matter what happened she committed murder and should be punished as such. Let's put aside feminism and sentiments.. what occurred before becomes irrelevant because the other person is dead and cannot defend himself.

Would u have suggested or said... the man must have been provoked to have killed her, if reverse was the case? So why try to make a case for her by assuming she was pushed or may be "self defending" herself ....cos she's the weaker sex? My dear, it may interest u to know that some women are more aggressive and are capable of physically beating some weak men blue and black when infuriated. Trust me.

  3. Anger!anger!anger!
Victims of domestic violence should just walk away to avoid issues like this.

I know that the number of military men, police men and even pastors that batter their wives dey much.
It is even worse for the wife of a police officer because no one will even believe her.

Anytime I remember the movie "Enough" by JLO or sleeping with the enemy by Julia Roberts I understand what some women pass through!

Woman,do the time! You did the crime.

    1. Iphie, 'sleeping with the enemy' was my favorite past time.. how I watched that movie back to back. I couldn't understand how a woman could be so scared of her LOVER!! Yea I was younger when the movie came out, but looking back at it, even as it was just a movie, I still do not see how I could have tarried. Not now, not ever. No one should. Period

      How u anyway? Lol

    1. Its really funny the way things are seen in this part of the world. Rather than treat each case on its merit, things are nixed up with unrelated issues. Ppl refuse to see this for what it it...cold blooded murder. They are saying karma. Well if it is the victims karma then it is also the karma of all those victims of rape accidental discharge,dv bad or no marriage etc. It is also our collective karma that our rulers mismanage and embezzle our collective patrimony. Henceforth, police should not arrest any one who commit any kind of crime because it is the victims karma

  23. The story says that they were having a shouting match then the woman ran to the kitchen and took a knife and starved him in the neck. Everyone here is pitying the woman, some are saying self defence. Using knife to defend word of mouth. All because a woman is involved. This is premeditated murder. She had been toying with the idea for some time before that day. She should go the hangman's way. How many of these her defenders would be in the forefront of urging their own family members to allow the woman go free because she acted in self defence if this man in question were their own brother and this incident happens just like stated here!
