President Buhari Off To Saudi Arabia Today With Oil Price Stability High On His Agenda...

President Muhammadu Buhari will begin a week-long official visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar today Monday, February 22, 2016.

President Buhari, who will be accompanied by a high-powered Federal Government delegation, including the Minister of State (Petroleum) and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, will first fly to Riyadyh for talks on Tuesday with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and senior officials of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ongoing efforts by Nigeria and other members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to achieve greater stability in the price of crude oil exports are expected to be high on the agenda of discussions between President Buhari and the Saudi Monarch.

Crude oil prices and market stability will also be on the front burner when President Buhari goes on to Doha on Saturday for talks on Sunday with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The President is also scheduled to meet with leading Saudi and Qatari businessmen in Riyadh and Doha, and invite them to support his administration’s efforts to revamp the Nigerian economy by taking advantage of the great investment opportunities currently available in Nigeria’s mining, agriculture, power supply, infrastructure, transportation, communications and other sectors.

President Buhari’s other engagements in Saudi Arabia include meetings with heads of international financial organisations and multilateral associations.
Before going on to Doha, the President will also visit Medina and Mecca to pray for greater peace, prosperity and progress in Nigeria.

Safe Journey President Bubu and team

    3. Leave her.. she thinks she's mrs politically inclined. Is it ISIS that is making d price of ur crude oil in Nigeria fall? Even if d prices rise do u think d common man will reap its benefit? Honestly d only benefit I see in rising oil prices is dat oil company workers have a pay rise. Is ISIS our presidents responsibility? Have u forgotten we have out own customized version called Bokoharam. Ur president is restless nd has no clue what d common man is passing thru. He is a fraud so stop supporting him blindly abeg. Change.. for the worst

I am glad that he is meeting with other OPEC countries. Saudi Arabia is the most influential of all the Opec's 12 member country.

With the stability of oil prices, a lot of things will automatically normalise.

  27. My sister @Linda Eze, we also had PhD holder that watched his men loot us to stupor. What we are witnessing today is due to Jonathan's failure to manage our resource with his fellow looters. When crude oil was $110, tell me what he (Jonathan) achieved with those fund apart from embezzlement? Dollar crises started going up during last campaign when politicians were rushing foreign currencies should incase Nigeria break after election.

It's only painful a corrupt government who looted our economy dry had exchange rate at 150naira per $ while a government who is trying to clean up their mess is seeing exchange rate at 400 per $. It means corruption is the only way out for our country with current situation.
As we have it so bad now is due to PhD holder cluelessness, YES we shall all continue to call him out as he was clueless and looted our common wealth with his gang of looters with impunity. PhD president did not look like someone who throughly did research as part of his thesis if he did, he surely be smarter than what Nigerians witnessed during his time.

My only take in all the drama going on with our economy is that our politicians are all clueless, including PMB. They are all interested in ruling a huge country called Nigeria but everyone failed to do their proper home work before hand. PMB is already acting like another clueless president with the way he is handling our economic situation. Yes his corruption approach is a welcome one and i give it to him then again, you can not fight corruption while economic situation is getting worst. I am yet to witness the active work of his ministers after 3months. What happened to light, fuel, exchange rate? Current CBN Governors policies are not working. CBN governor need to be shown the way out, he is a PDP man and will frustate your policies.
PMB need to stay at home and assemble economic team from all sectors to salvage the situation. Oyibo/Arabs are not interested investing in a country with bad economic situation no investor will do so. It is left for we Nigerians to do it ourselves by embarking on local production reduce importation.
PMB should have been aware of the mess he is getting into if he was prepared with his team because when one is prepared, one knows how to tackle issues and foresee the future.
This same problem caught across all government sectors, governors are even the worst. Most of them are only interested in being governors but do not have road map on how to achieve good governance before election reasons, they end up loading their pockets with cash within the first 3 years.
PMB is a strong leader, am happy we have a change in government seeing Dasuki and Dezani case but same time he need to raise up to Nigeria new challenges, now is not the era of 1983.

  28. This his journey was explained better
At least we have a detailed reason for his trip
    May his meetings be successful
But sometimes I think some of his trips should be handled by the minister of foreign affairs, tourism, finance and petroleum. This people would have better view to such matters and would help us save money.
