1. Leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress and the representatives of the federal government are expected to resume talks today over the increment of fuel pump price from N86 to N145.
The NLC had called off the indefinite strike on Sunday as a result of the intervention of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola TInubu.


2. The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria has announced the adoption of a flexible exchange rate policy.
The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, who made the announcement on Tuesday, said with the new directive, the CBN would within the next few days unveil a new guideline on the management of foreign exchange in the country.


3. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared a leading figure in the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, wanted.
EFCC is after the party chieftain over the N700 million which he reportedly received from the Office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki (rtd).


4. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has obtained a court order restraining Ali Modu-Sheriff from parading himself as the National Chairman of the party.
Chairman of the PDP Convention Screening Committee and Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State, Emma Aguma (SAN) confirmed this to newsmen in Port Harcourt.


5. The prosecution counsel of the case against former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Peter Orubebe, Mr. M. S. Diri, DPP of the Federation, represented by Ejike Augustine Orji (SSC), has closed the government’s case against the accused person.
Mr Orji, earlier told the court on Tuesday in Abuja, that having reviewed the case, he felt there was no further course to call for any other witness on the matter.


6. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr Ahmed Ja’afaru to take over from Dr Peter Ekpendu as the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Prisons Service, NPS.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Mr Bassey Akpanyung, and issued on Tuesday.


7. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has called on Governor Ayodele Fayose to explain to Ekiti people how he got N650m to purchase a land allegedly transferred to the retired Chief of Defence Staff, Air Vice Marshal Alex Badeh, who is facing a criminal trial over alleged fraud in property acquisition in Abuja.
This was followed by the governor’s refusal to declare his assets public, including allegations of fraud raised against him, which he has not denied.


8. The organised labour in Bayelsa State has suspended its three-day old strike over unpaid salaries and pension arrears.
The workers said they were ready to collect 50% of their outstanding salaries as proposed by the state government


9. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained the Edo State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih, and extended invitation to 18 local government officials of the party.
This is not unconnected with the ongoing search for N700m given to Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party out of the Diezani $115m alleged bribe money.


10. Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has called on Nigerians to be patient and give the present administration more time to achieve its objectives.

Amaechi said the government had started paying contractors not appointed by the current administration, noting that such action represented service delivery to the people.

    well, those that arnt wise are already asking foolish questions.
    he didnt sell a land to badeh, rather he sold the land to someone who then sold to another before badeh bought it at 650m.

  3. What a country. Jesus Christ. The money being announced daily as bribe money is mind boggling. Yet not one single person has been successfully sent to prison for this. And you dare pay workers 50% of their salary?

    The people deserve their leaders. It is a reflection of he followership. Slave trade on another level. God forbid
