Service Year Boulevard 25

To serve our Fatherland.....

Hello Stella, plenty hugs for you, your blog is one of the best things that has happened to me in recent times.

Am a visitor, being trying to create my blog id so that I can always comment and be participating in all dese Santa giveaways but for where, my phone is dealing with me....

Now my nysc experience started when I went to register and we were to choose choice states, mind you I registered late so I was happy when I saw Taraba because that was where boo(ex) was serving. Sharpaly I picked it and two other states, but lo and behold when the posting came out I was posted to Sokoto. I cried my heart out, mum even advised me to wait till 2016 but I said for where, me that can't wait to leave because I had stopped working two months before and I was very bored at home.

Finally, I gathered morale and downloaded the map of Nigeria to check where Sokoto is and another round of tears started when I saw it at the extreme end of the map. Fear catch me no be small, my uncle advised that I should go to camp and apply for redeployment.

On getting to camp, I made new friends, my corner mate was bestie and because she stays in Sokoto (she's married) ,the husband would come every evening bringing with him lots of goodies and friends who wanted to hook up but I was there forming faithful while my boyfriend was having fun with another corps member in Taraba.

Since I got to camp he never called me till one evening he sent me a message via whatsapp that it's over, that marked the end of fun in camp for me. This was a guy I dated for six years no reasons whatsoever, thanks to my new friend, she cheered me up and was busy trying to hook me up with her husband's friend but I refused because I didn't want to stay back in Sokoto. Because of what happened, I decided to not apply with redeployment because I didn't want to come back and see things that would remind me of my ex.

I got posted to town, my ppa was the sokoto state polytechnic, I was favoured with the best hod ever, this man was giving me money everyday for five months straight. My dept became the envy of other Corps members as they always found a reason to visit me in the office so that they will see my hod and once they see him, na beta they go carry comot.

I had a roommate in town because the lodge was so bad that I couldn't stay but babe was into rough runs that I decided to go rent another room abeg. While house hunting, I met this Yoruba fellow corps member that was forming Hausa, guy was so caring and stuff, he asked me out and we started going out until I found out that he has a fiancee and will always collect money from me to send to her.

After the whole incident I went back to my shell because I'm an introvert and my girlfriend had travelled out and husband transferred to kaduna. Meanwhile I had a cousin I served with but this girl showed me hell that I gave her space. I will go to work and come back to my house, Thursdays were fun cos of cds and I was in the best cds in sokoto then(Epg).

Such was my routine until I met this guy in my cds, guy is cute, handsome and a good orator, girls were always around him so it was just a hello thing until he offered to visit me, I was reluctant at first but after so many calls and messages I invited him over. He came to my place and later asked me out for a date, I dodged until two months later he asked again at cds, I finally obliged him, asked me out and I told him frankly that I don't do flings abeg cos I'm too emotional, turns out guy too was single, I said yes and the rest is now history, we are still together till now.

The rest of my service year was fun cos of this guy, my cds and my dept at my ppa. My service taught me so many things, I always remain remain grateful to God who didn't allow me to redeploy and made me experience so many things, I can now type and send my experience for people to read (I'm so grateful for that) .

For those of you clamoring for nysc to be scrapped, please stop cos it's a good scheme. Abeg make una forgive all my typos. ....na tension cause am and I'm sorry for the long epistle.

Stells, thanks for this opportunity, e-hugs for u!
